Snow Chain Question - using a size 'slightly' smaller
Going up to the snow in my commuter, my old chains are for '180/60/15' tires, though my commuter car tires are '180/65/15'.
How bad is it to use the '60 chains on the '65 tires? It's the difference of (117 vs 108 mm) 9mm, so maybe 18mm total on the overall diameter of the tire? I installed them last night in my driveway and they installed fine. Just seeing if anyone had anymore information. Thanks! |

Most chains are made to fit a few different size tires, so if you didn't struggle to get them on and they aren't tight you should be fine. make sure to put chains on as tight as possible and use chain tighteners too.
if you don't, chains will rip and fuck up your paint
