Goodyear Eagles

Any thoughts on Goodyear eagles? I track the E92 about ten weekends a year. I got 7000 miles out of my stock PS2. Just wondering.

I've used them on a 930 before and was very pleased. Dry grip may be a touch better than the Ps2s. Overall, very good high performance feel in a street tire. Were fine for a few track days (did get a bit slippery after 15 minutes on track like any street tire).

Which ones in particular? There're many different 'sub-models'.
They're like Michelin 'Pilots'; the PS2s are just one of many available.

He's probably taking about the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric tires, but yea, he should be more specific as there are many other tire models listed under the Eagle brand name.

If these are indeed the model he was reffering to...

Then yes, they are excellent tires in every aspect. I purchased a set of 19's when they first came out, and they are as good as advertised.

They ONLY reason I never bought another set...was the price tag. (nearly as expensive as the PS2's)

The Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas are much cheaper, and provide nearly identical performance across the board. (the Sessantas are a little better in the wet traction and braking areas)

If the Vred's didn't exist, I'd buy another set of the Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics in a heartbeat.

How you finding the Vred's compared to the F1's regarding handling and road noise?

My overall impressions, are that the Vredestiens are nearly identical to the performance of the Goodyear Asymmetric in nearly every category. (with the exception of the wet weather braking and wet cornering grip)

I would have to give a slight edge to the Vredesteins in those two areas.

Otherwise, these two tires are essentially the same performance wise.

Again, the primary reason I did not buy another set, is because the Vredestiens cost much less than the Goodyears.

I love (and would recommend) both tires to anyone with a high-performance car.

Does they make the Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas or the Eagle F1s in std OEM 19" sizes?

Goodyear Eagle F1s and probably a better overall tyres than the PS2 in dry/wet performance but they aren't as good as CUP+. I would agree that the Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas are probably the better purchase if your weather is mainly dry but even then the wet performance isn't miles off the pace of the other two.
