For me it's between a 'cure' and 'improvement'. But Footie, I thought you were getting a Jag,... dare I ask why do you care about the latest DCT software?

For what it's worth I just got back from doing a ED last week and I couldn't reproduce the lag issue. I am assuming my car had the latest software update. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it stays that way after putting more miles on it.

I can't answer because I do not have it. The reviews seemed mixed and since I rarely ever expreience lag and care most about performance of the shifts while accelerating I decided to wait for the next update (rumored to be coming soon, but who knows).

So there's no poll, there was a power cut at the time I was sending it and somehow the poll options didn't get included, I've asked one of the mods to include them if possible.
Yes I now have a Jag but as it was the lag there finally made my decision to change I am still curious to see if holding on and getting the latest upgrade would have been the wiser decision. Though finally getting the Jag I am as happy as a pig in shit, the thing is wonderful but in a totally different way. |

How do I know what software rev I have installed? I purchased my car about a month ago and when I went for my 1200mi service, the DCT software was not upgraded.
Thanks SZ |

I had the latest upgrade about two weeks ago and the only difference is that now I have an extra acceleration when I go from a full stop, does this make sense. Anyway I'm sick of going in, this is my third update, and I'm just going to live with it.

Do u guys need to pay for the latest software update or do you just complain about the lag and make them install the latest to see if it cures it?

I believe it is vastly improved, but not quite cured. There is about a 0.5 sec lag now at times.
The software updates are free to USA owners as it is covered under warranty. I'm not sure about you UK folks. |

Mine was 4/09 build and had my software updated. Not cured, but better.

Never a problem, got the latest in May, still no problems with lag. Just wish they would fix the shift lights.
