Exclamation HELP: Does your M sound like this at idle? (video inside)

I'm a little paranoid about the way my car idles. After the car is warmed up I notice a few things when I'm at a stop light:

1) I get a ever so light shake in the car (very faint)
2) I get a sort of gurgle or something. It doesn't start right away when I stop and disappears after I drive. This is the one I'm a bit worried about because I don't recall hearing this during earlier miles.

Maybe I'll try to post a vid. Thoughts?

EDIT: Ok ... here's a video on youtube. To really hear the noise you probably need to use headphones. The noise I'm concerned about isn't the engine rumble or the few tick tack noises, but there's also a noise that's sort of like fingers drumming on a tupperware container or something. This video was after the car was warm. I can hear it in the cabin, but it is much more faint than it is with the hood open. The noise isn't there when the engine is cold, but it starts shortly after driving a bit. Can you let me know if ...

a) you hear it in the video and
b) if your M makes this noise also (I think it's easiest to hear it near the intake side of the engine bay)

Much thanks!

Here's one from inside the cabin after the car has been driven around town for 20 min. This one is really faint and you definitely need headphones to hear it. The engine noise is more distinct, but further into the vid the tupperware noise can be heard. At least my oil level is good after 500 miles. Haha.

UPDATE 5/31:
I drove 40 miles to my dealer today because I figured my CA would be cool and really help me try to figure it out. When I got there I pooped my hood and a bunch of service guys were listening for it. We could all hear it pretty audibly. Like GT3Tim said ... the engine is so new that nobody had any idea what is was so all we could do is pull up another M and see if the noise was there.

Took a while for the new M to warm up, but sure enough when it did we could hear the same noise. The only difference was that on the new M it wasn't as prominent. The head service guy said to keep an ear out to see if it gets worse and bring it in if it does.

Hmmm ... hard to tell. I'll try to post a video later from inside the cabin. I can hear it there as well as when the hood is popped. The exhaust drone probably makes it hard to hear it.

Ok I uploaded a video ... would you fellow M owners see if your cars make this noise too? Let me know if you can't hear it in the video either and I'll try to find a better example. I have a few videos now.

Don't think so. Funny though.

I definitely hear the finger tapping on tuppeware noise, great description. I don't experience it. My idle is loud and rough especially when cold. It is really noticeable and very "high performance V8". This mellows out really quickly though after only a minute or so.

Haha ... ya that's the best way I could describe it. That's what it sounds like in the video, but in real life it's almost like a drum noise ... the vid is pretty close though. You did hear it in the video though right?

Damn ... now I'm worried.

I don't think it's something to be worried about. With new cars we're always worried there's something wrong and we look for the slightest things and get paranoid but this is a high revving V8. If you don't get any check engine lights and the car runs fine don't worry about it. You have the warranty to back you up regardless

This is true, but this is the first time I have heard this noise on all the videos I've seen thus far.

It's pretty tough to hear on video when you're not right in the engine bay like I was. Most vids of the car idling are around the exhaust area and maybe in the cabin.

EDIT: Video added to 1st post above.

This noise sounds somewhat similar to one in my 6mt car, which I assume is the clutch throw-out bearing - it goes away when I depress the clutch. I think it's normal, because I've heard many M cars with the same noise.

You may be hearing the equivalent in the MDCT. In any event, a trip to the dealer to check it out would be the safest thing.

It's possible that what you hear is just the bi-vanos system making some noise. It doesn't sound serious like a bearing or rod knocking or even a piston rocking. The 4.6 3V Mustang engines made some noises at idle speeds that I believe were eventually traced to the VCT(Variable Cam Timing) mechanism. It wouldn't hurt to have it looked at by the dealer though.

Great description of the tupperward sound - I hear it. I'll check mine out in a little bit to see if I hear it.

Awesome guys thanks for checking to see if you can hear this sound too. I might make a trip to a dealer this morning since I'm up so early anyway.

Yeah i heard it again in this video. Even when test drove the car, i sat in the car just listening to the engine (very different from E46) and i definitely did not hear this sound. If it was my car, I would have them check it out. It may be something, or it may not. I would play it save. It doesn't really sound like people have a grasp of what it is.

I had a few other M's. I hear nothing abnormal in the clip either...Of course, best course of action is to have her checked over just in case, but really, if the car aint thorwing a code, I doubt the dealer will think anything is wrong. the techs are not experienced enough with this motor to know wtf is a normal sound!
