I cannot find the engine block drain

Recently i was doing the radiator coolant flush and only managed to flush just a part of it.I am unable to find the engine block bolt :/ I found this :

http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=706073

But none of it was helpful.

What i need is a picture or DIY vid. where they show the engine block screw so i can locate it and drain the whole coolant out.

Does anybody have such a picture or video ?

Thanks

Drains are on bottom rear outer sides of engine block above the rear "wings" in the oil pan and above the area where the header primaries merge into the header secondaries. You can see them with a small extension mirror. You need a hex socket on a swivel or u-joint. I forget the size. Might be 5.5 mm.

Some pictures attached to give you an idea. Female hex head plug is removed in pictures. Plug is on block side of header.

That DIY did not use the engine block drain. The way he did it (me included) was to bleed the radiator screw, add coolant, run car, drain again. Do it a few times and it should be all new coolant.

Your method of draining the radiator and refilling several times will certainly decrease the percentage of original coolant compared to draining and refilling once, but it is a dilution rather than a coolant flush. It is easy enough to do it right once you know where the drains are and how to reach them. It is a messy job, however.

Okay now i know where the drains are,my question :

are they accesible when the oil pan and front axle is on ? Because pictures provided by pbonsalb shows them when those are removed.

As I noted in my original post, yes, but you are operating somewhat blind. You can guide a hex socket into each plug and remove and install them with the pan and exhaust in place. Put the car up and use an inspection mirror to understand the access.
