Around 265 - 290 miles per tank. After filling up, the gauge reads 308 mile range and I'm overjoyed, 1 minute later while just cruising in the freeway it instantly drops to 280, I'm like WTF? My MPG hovers around 17.4 ~ 17.5 mpg, 50/50 city highway, all the power / performance settings on like a Christmas tree. I rip it 10% of the time, fast cruise at 80mph, 10mph+ over the speed limit most of the time. Overall I think I'm satisfied with the fuel economy (or lack thereof)

this... people are just straight up wrong or lying here.

I have/had 2 m3 and both just got over 200 a tank averaging about 13-15 city and just 20 highway.

2 days ago I did 120 miles on the highway driving 80 in 6th gear and did the remaining city driving and got 210 a tank with distance to empty at 0

Hahaha! That's more like it!

Anyway....I know that your driving style GREATLY affects your fuel mileage, so if you're getting 250+, you are really never pushing the car at all (i.e. not having fun).

I average about 190miles with the distancy to empty at around 45. I HATE that the light comes on at 60 miles.

I'm going to be taking a trip back to NY to visit family and father's day BBQ, so I'll take pics of the mpg during my journey TO and FROM new england.

But so far, i'm getting about 250miles before I go empty, 80% highway

LOL I think if you're getting less than 200 miles per tank you're having too much illegal fun.

Hmmm, I guess the definition of "fun" is relative. I don't have to be driving the tits out of my M3 to have "fun" behind the wheel. Are you one of those types who enjoy having lots of "fun" behind the wheel, but then start a thread bitching about a ticket (..or cops in general) when we catch you?

At present, I'm over 1000 miles from my house, the M3 has averaged 20.6 mpg. About 350 miles between fill ups has been the norm. City driving usually has me refilling somewhere between a 1/4 and 1/2 tank. Frankly, range in town doesn't matter to me as the car isn't a DD.

it can be done rather easily with only freeway. i was commuting all freeway 120 miles a day for a while and when i took the m3 for that i would routinely get over 300 on a tank. you can very easily go the other way and get around 120 miles from a tank by taking it to the track.
