Turns out I don't have a flat tire.
While I was driving through a new community in the midst of construction yesterday, a warning referring to the Flat Tire Monitor chimed in along with a warning that DSC could not be active due to a malfunction. I figured that I had run over a nail or screw, and that because the low tire would be a different size than its counterpart on the other side of the car, DSC and ABS wouldn't work properly and were disabled. I was close to home, and everything felt fine, so I just drove into my garage. This morning, when I looked at the tires, the passenger front wheel looked low, but it was an illusion created by it being turned towards that wheel sharply in combination with the front tires being so low profile. I check the pressures and they are all fine, and i just went for a drive and everything certainly seems fine. I did get those warnings again, though. Nevertheless, I was low on gas (and there was fuel reserve warning indicator as well), so I decided to go on a short drive to get some. Interestingly, after filling the tank with gas and starting the engine again, all warnings disappeared, and now, the system all checks out "ok".

Just got a call from the dealership. Both Throttle actuators need to be replaced. 2-3 weeks wait time because the parts have to come from Germany!!!

Yeah same thing. Did they give you a BMW loaner at least?

no loaner. i didn't ask, anyway the SA said the car is ok to drive but not over 4k rpm. I don't drive that much anyway-only on weekends so no inconvenience for me. I might make a bigger deal if this was my daily driver. |

A similar thing happened to me, except I don't have iDrive and my car wouldn't start. I woke up one morning to fill up the car with some gas. The car just died on me. I thought the battery was dead, so I tried jump starting it no luck.
I towed the car to my local dealer. They told me it was something called a Fuel Control Module. I don't even know what that is. They replaced the part and the car still wouldn't start. Fortunately, BMW was hosting that huge golf event here in Illinois and one of the specialized diagnostic experts was in town. He drove over to the dealer and apparently my DME was pulling every code known to man. They called BMW in Germany and they overnighted me a brand new DME. Low and behold, all was fixed after that and 100% covered by warranty

Yeah, I hope so, at least these problems happened when my car is still covered by warranty.

I don't think so, never heard about it. I guess you can ask BMW Canada to buy back your car. But dude, this is such a common problem with M3s (just look at the number of threads recently about this issue) and I love my car! Gonna keep her, I just hope they get the part quicker.
