Is it possible to reduce the rpm used for launch control on a DCT transmission (below 5000 rpm)?
I know stock it is capable of going from 5500 to 5000 (though I haven't been able to get it to work. Can it be tuned (uh-hem Mike Benvo) or is that only a 6MT capability. I'd like it to launch at 3500 or so. 5500 just spins the wheels, which is anything but controlled.

umm if you want to launch at 3500, than simply do it manually. Left foot on brake, accelerator to 3500 and release the brake. Never tried but this is how other automatics launch unless DCT does not allow you to powerbrake

If it were that easy, I don't think we would need coding. The car with DCT realizes the brake is depressed and when you press the accelerator, the engine bogs and never breaches 1500-2000 until it releases completely back to idle after a few moments.

I've found 4k to be the best launch rpm on my 6MT. That's what Benvo tuned it for after I wasn't entirely happy with 3500.

Was the rtfm comment for me?! What part of of my statements were false? The 500rpm swing for launch control (in the manual by the way), or the fact that you can't press the brake and accelerator simultaneously (which you can test for yourself)?
Please enlighten me OB1.

Clearly, I poorly worded my question.
Let me try again: Is it possible through coding to reduce the launch rpm of a DCT equipped car to a level lower than 5000 rpm? I have seen bpm coding options for 6MT transmissions, but nothing for DCT. Is that clear enough? Or is that in TFM too?

I guess it could quite easily be done through coding , the coding experts would need to chime in. |

I think I've figured out how to do this. Anyone in LA feel free to drop me a line and we can test it.

Hi Mike, I'm in SoCal and can meet up with you if needed. I've love to lower my launch control down to something like 2,500 RPM. Thx.

if the launch is set too low, is there the possibility of bogging and burning up the clutches?

It's editing the DME software so I would prefer a stock car.
