When you did it last, did they cover the whole hood? Or did they just cover the first foot or two up from the bumper?

I mean, i can show you pics of the film during the different stages of the application process, but you wont be able to tell from the before or after shots on guys that do a full frontal application(no lines).
I'll try and post pics off my camera tonight, depends how happy hour goes.

It so obnoxious when people post just to post. There is a post out there, Ill let you search yourself with someone who actually took pictures of the entire application process from start to finish. The entire front of the car was covered. |

Not sure, I opted to this time as the cost difference was not that large from the kit vs. custom full application.
It's personal preference. If the lines do not bother you, that get the kit, if they do and you don't mind paying a few extra bucks, why not do the custom. I will say though, the hood bulge on the e92 is quite large, and if you track or do any back road driving, it will definitely get nailed by road debris.

However haven't seen one with just a strip. You know what is obnoxious is people like you that cruise around the forum and post little comment like this when someone is just trying to find more info...

Yes, they do the whole hood and bumper, along with side-view mirrors and front fenders. IIRC some even get the rear done.
I don't know exactly why they used to do just the first foot or so of the hood, but it seems that doing the whole thing is the right thing to do. Now, if they could only get some sort of coating for the windshield ...

This is why we have so many "viewers" and non-posters on this forum (like myself)...too many wanna-be administrators that just want to harp on people to get their post numbers high. If a post annoys you; it's very easy to just click the "back" button. Talk about "posting just to post" |

Not sure what terms you used in your search, but here is a link to a post about my clearbra application. I got the full hood an fenders done and can't tell that it's there. http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=126357 If you look in the Wash, Wax, Detail, Internal/External Maintenance & Repairs forum, you'll find some additional discussion. Good luck. |

Anyone know the long term effects of the Venture Shield clear bra? If I want to remove it for some reason in a couple years does it come off easily or does it discolor the paint underneath? Are you forced to keep using some sort of clear bra forever once you start or can you change your mind in a couple years and go "topless"? Basically just need to know if it is easily removed or leaves a permanent mark. Thanks.

Same here...
I'd post pics of it, but they would just be pics of my car, as you cannot see the bra. It covers THE ENTIRE front, including the lights and the full hood. Even the intake vents where there is paint. Fantastic job. There is one 3 mm defect that you can find if you search hard enough.

Yes you can remove it, clean the paint, polish it and you will never know the clear bra was there -except for one thing - it wont have chips!!!!

No closeups of the bra itself, but the Gray car in these pics has a clear bra

This is a very important question. Does anyone have any experience of removing the clearbra? How does the car look? Does it pull off any of the paint or any other harmful effects?

I had a clear bra on my prior car my '07 STI which was Statin White Pearl. After a few months you could start to tell that the car had a clear bra on. I guess it started to yellow? But on a darker car it might not be as noticeable. The clear bra is a good thing to have though, saved my paint from a lot of bumper scratches parking in the City
