Ordering 2011 e92?

Does anyone know if it\'s possible to order a new e92? I have one dealer who has prices out one and given me the ok to order, while another said they are no longer taking orders on 2011s. Just trying to see if anyone else had some concrete info.

Thanks

Thats true they are not taking any more orders @ least for 2011 E92 M3, I ordered one and my sales person just told me they are filled for 2011 and that all the production dates are taken plus August is the last production month, so he is trying to see if he get a slot with a different dealer or find me one with as much of what I want on it for the same price, if not I guess I will have to wait for the announcement of the 2012 production date and order a 2012 for the same price. I guess that BMW gives each dealer certain amount of production slots and my dealer doesn't have any more.

OP Just comes down to allocations slots that dealers have. Like above stated some dealerships get more allocations then others. Larger volume selling dealerships such as ourselves may get more allocation then a smaller volume dealership.

IF you would like any assistance or a quote feel free to shoot Ryan an email and let him know what your looking for and he will take care of whatever it is you need

So I'm wondering what everyone's thoughts are on this. Do I try to find a dealer with a 2011 allocation or wait for 2012 availability? Any idea ETA on 2012s?

I've decided to purchased a new E92 M3 from Ryan @ Steve Thomas BMW. After emails & conversations with Ryan, I decided to wait and order a 2012. He did have one opening left for 2011. My decision to wait & buy a '12 was based on my indecisiveness on color. This gives me a little more time to figure out if I want to go with BMW Individual.

My last conversation with Ryan...no word yet on '12 pricing or production start date. He said hopefully in a couple of weeks or by the end of July BMW will release the info.
We both agreed that waiting a month or so for a '12 would be worth it for me.

After talking to two dealers today, I decided to do the same thing. They both told me that ordering the 2012 would start at the end of the month with delivery being ~11 weeks from the time of order.

11 weeks? Wow, I'm seriously starting to consider just looking for something used instead of ordering. I thought the standard estimate was 6-8 weeks.

I'm no expert, but I do believe the time frame is about 8 weeks..more or less from time of ordering. I'm not sure about the factory shut down (Aug.) & start up (Sept.) of 2012 M3's.
I'm hoping to be able to place my order at end of July and be among the first builds in the beginning of Sept. Then hopefully receive the car by end of Oct. or beginning of Nov.

Hmm, so I guess any 2011 orders would have to be built before the end of July as when the plant re-opens they will be switched to the 2012 line?

Yes...I'm told it takes around 2 weeks from ordering to build. The rest of the time the car is in transit. Time is definitely running out for 2011 M3's. I'm also told that the factory does operate a little in Aug. It then shut downs & retools for 2012.
I'm hoping 2012 production starts beginning Sept.

Basically, ordering a 2012 one loses about 4 weeks because of the (Aug.) factory shut down & startup.

but gains more than 4K$ at resale time
So that's $1000 per week of delay
Plus this year will be special as it's the last model year of the E92/93

But I wonder what BMW would do about the Drive for Team USA coupon...it states you have to take delivery by Oct 31...if we wait to order a 2012 and it comes the first week of November, what happens?

then you don't get to use the $1000 coupon. The incentive is used to help dealers with their 2011 vehicles anyways....

For me I got significantly more than a $4K discount as well as much better financing rates. So sometimes it's worth it to get in at the end of a year.. depends on your local market and their thirst for BMWs I suppose. Canada sucks generally; we love them here and are happy to pay MSRP with high interest.

Yes but the coupon does state it can be used for 2012 vehicles. I just wonder if we order the Vehicle in September lets say....and the car doesn't actually get delivered until first week of November....would the 1000 coupon still work or would BMW not honor it?
