I've always been under the impression that you walk up and buy them.. I imagine 200 euros or so at least ( per person) but as far as impossible goes, i dont think thats the case

Last I heard rides were booked up over a year ahead of time. Now it might be possible to join some others who already have a booking but want to cut their cost some?

Its pretty easy to get on the ring, I went drove on the ring last year. I paid 450 euros for a lap in the fastest street legal car they had tested on the track, it just happened to be an r8. Let me tell you, if this is your first track experience, you develop such a deep appreciation for the engineering behind the vehicle. Enjoy!

I'm planning on going out for a couple laps in my ED M3 so I'll check in with the ringtaxi folks when I get there to see if there are any empty seats or cancellations.

If you are going to pick up a BMW see if they can swing it for you. Their Fahrer training division runs the taxis do they not ? Better still book onto one of their ring driving courses, so far as I am aware they still use M3s. Also courses on the Grand Prix circuit.
http://www.m-power.com/_open/b/drive...ng.jsp?lang=en The new years courses and venues normally appear in January - currently showing winter driving courses. May well be worth phoning. |

Getting a ride in the M5 'Ring Taxi is all about luck...it costs 200 EUR for up to 3 people (you can split the cost if you want)...not 200 EUR per person...also...when you're there...there are tons of drivers out there that will take you out in their car and all you have to do is ask and pay for their lap

I did 2 of their courses on the Grand Prix circuit and on the evening between courses our instructor took us for a few laps of the Nordsleife (he sometimes drives the ring taxis). He reckoned he had done 7000 laps in his career (also a biker). The laps were in the then current E46 M3 and were something else - including some drifting in pretty scary places. My legs were shaking for hours afterwards.

I emailed them right after I scheduled my ED trip, but was told that everything booked and nothing available during that time. I emailed them one more time just before my flight to Munich, and received the same response. When I arrived to Munich I was pleasantly surprised to receive a message from them saying that they have one slot available. Our ride with Sabine was very entertaining, she is an amazing driver and laughed at every turn.
