E92 M3 Coupe Frozen Silver Edition Announced for UK
BIMMERPOST NEWS E92 M3 Coupe Frozen Silver Edition Announced for UK The new BMW M3 Coupé Frozen Silver Edition 19.04.2012 An exclusive new BMW M3 Coupé Frozen Silver Edition model has been announced as part of BMW M GmbH’s 40th anniversary year. Just 100 of the high performance coupés will be sold in the UK and the model features unique content to make it a truly collectable item. The new BMW M3 Coupé Frozen Silver Edition features BMW’s class-leading 420hp V8 engine with power transferred to the road via the standard seven-speed M DCT transmission and variable M differential. The car comes with a 10mm lowered suspension featuring a three-stage Electronic Damper Control, 19-inch light alloy wheels and a revised DSC+ system. But it is the bespoke combination of Frozen Silver metallic paint, not seen before on any BMW, matte black alloy wheels, Dark Chrome exhaust, side gills and kidney surrounds, and Jet Black bonnet intakes that set the car apart. A High-gloss Shadowline exterior trim completes the exterior look. Inside and the high standard specification includes Black Novillo leather with contrast stitching and Palladium leather armrests and inserts,. The steering wheel is sheathed in Alcantara and comes complete with an M3 chequered flag motif, while the door sills feature a similar logo. Carbon fibre is liberally applied to the interior to underscore the sporting credentials, the handbrake has M Power stitched onto it and there is a plaque to highlight the limited edition nature of the car. The new BMW M3 Coupé Frozen Silver Edition adds nearly £9,000 of equipment to a standard M3, but all for an on-cost of just £4,000. The car goes on sale in the UK on 1 June, 2012. News of the latest M car to be offered in the UK comes as the country remains an important market for BMW M products. Despite the tough economic climate BMW UK sold 789 M3 Coupés in 2011, a 10 per cent increase over the previous year. The U.S. received the same special edition M3 earlier, in the form of the "2012 BMW M3 Competition Edition Featuring Frozen Silver Exterior" |

Yes, there are no photos of the UK model yet.
These photos are from the announcement of the US model "2012 BMW M3 Competition Edition Featuring Frozen Silver Exterior" Basically the same car.

Why don't we get any type of special editions.
Seriously what was the last special edition we got? The last one that I can think of was the E36 M3 Lightweight. |

And before that we had, the NA market received the limited edition 2011 BMW Frozen Black M3 Coupe (in June 2011).

Lovely. I wouldn't want the headache of the frozen paint, but Lovely nonetheless.
Great interior combo! .

Perhaps NA doesn't need special editions because we're well aware of the ///M brand. I always saw all these special editions released outside of NA to help raise awareness. I mean how many of us want these cars with all these badges? Might as well just get a built-to-order ///M3.

"...Frozen Silver metallic paint, not seen before on any BMW..."
What? Of course it has, including our NA frozen silver spec edition. We've now had three special runs (the frozen grey batch, frozen black, and frozen silver. Before the end of the E92 anybody want to guess the next special edition color? Hopefully they're run out of cosmetic options and do some performance tweaks (but I doubt that would happen...)

An M3 with metallic paint, competition package and DCT is around £61,000 list price in the UK so ignoring any discount they're not charging more for it.

I love the use of the word exclusive
Akin to At&ts usage of the word unlimited plan to refer to a limited plan There's almost nothing exclusive about that car Same old parts as all the other exclusive special limited editions Yawn

I just don't know why anyone would buy a new M3 atm. With the F30 here, a replacement for the coupe will be here soon and M cars not long after that. I know we maybe talking a couple of years but it feels like it's round the corner and it's not a time I'd be wanting to pay top money for an out going car. You can pick up this model M3 for the low £20k mark now, a slightly tarted up model wouldn't make me want to spend three times that.
I like these news updates of new special editions (they're nice to look at) but how special are they? On the whole, it's a bit of paint here and there, wow. |

If they are gonna make a special then do something special. Whoring out the M3 to suck the market dry of money??? Really? I thought the Ford Mustang had that niche nailed. Brutal. |
