Looking for New Tires

So here is my dilemma...need new rear tires since the nimrod that had my car previously decided to only replace one tire instead of the pair after getting a nail in the sidewall. On top of that, the load numbers are different (94Y vs. 98Y). My other option is to find a used tire, but I'm not really excited about that prospect.

Currently running Pilot Sport PS2 N2s in a 265-35-19 setup. I'm having a hard time with spending $850 on 2 tires (yeah so I am frugal), so I'm looking for some advice from the forum.

I would probably spend a little more and buy a new set of 4 Michelin PSS from tire rack. They are cheaper than PS2's and most say they are a better tire. N2's are the porsche version of the PS2 tires. If you have ZCP wheels I would recommend going up to 255/35/19 and 275/35/19. If you have 220M I would stick with OEM sizes. You may be able to get something for your old tires.

I've got a pair of nearly brand new Continental ExtremeContact DW tires in 265/35-19 fitment for sale. I can give you a pretty good deal on 'em. PM me if interested

I agree with slicer plus tire rack prices are lower:

Yokohama Tires ADVAN NEOVA AD08 265/35R18 HWY 93W

http://www.discountedwheelwarehouse....8021&pID=53705

$367.28

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....AD08&tab=Sizes

$311.00

Not even close in prices.

Yeah, and another thing too…

I had previously (a couple years ago) gotten a set of PSS's from discountedwheelwarehouse. It was a good price, as I recall. However, the tires have been at the edge of acceptable weight distribution, causing my very good wheel and tire guy to have never gotten a very good balance out of the wheels with those tires on. Could be coincidence but I'm thinking that website is not the best place to get your tires :/

Personally, I like discounttiredirect.com in general. Sometimes, they don't have certain brands or sizes but they do have very good prices and are very quick

To be honest, I just checked the guys price comparison up there and the only reason Tire Rack has AD08's cheaper is cos they are on blowout. So I take back the price comparison theory but I still personally believe you own a part of the store you keep promoting...like come on why would you go so hard all the time when you do not benefit from it.

Anywho, I'll keep going to tirerack just because I know I'm guaranteed a final price at checkout and no surprises after the fact, even if they are a little bit more $$. + they are a vendor on here.

EDIT: No shipping to Canada? Game over.

+1 ...but there is one - point, and that is... that the PSS produce more road noise than PS2,but grip is amazing in wet and dry conditions

Have also nice and new roads here,so i think this road noise depends also on the air pressure in the tires ....
Anyway my previous tires the PS2 where a lot softer and quieter than my PSS,and will try a lower air pressure now .

I know the ///M crowd might be "too good" for lowly Korean tires but I just replaced all 4 tires on my M3 with Hankook V12s (upsized to 255/35 + 275/35) for 850 out the door. Ive had these tires on other cars before and they are more than sufficient for normal street driving.

Going to the track satiates my need for speed so I do drive quite conservatively on the street.
