PSS10 issues with pictures!

So I've been getting this annoying bubbling rubbing sound from my front suspensions. I got it diagnosed by my shop today, that the chrome on the front shaft is pitting causing the issue. It may probably destroy the seal, allowing water, salt, etc into the body destroying it from the inside. I've contacted Turner, and the advice I got was that this is normal ..and chances of Bilstein giving me warranty is 50/50. Can anyone chime in about this?

Also, I only had these for about 5 months, if that's important.

UPDATE: the struts finally came and the old ones came off today...here's some pictures of the condition before they go back to bilstein; hopefully I will get reimbursed for it..cause it's only been 9-10months with them on at most.

That's not pitting, that's the chrome finish failing. That should 100% covered under warranty.

Well I just got off the phone with a rep at Bilstein, he said there's a good chance it will be covered, but they would have to see it first. So I just started the warranty process with Turner, waiting to hear back from them.

If you've never used any crazy chemicals to wash your car, this should be 100% covered under warranty. If they aren't, you know where to post

Lot of that stuff just comes off with a blast of water...the lower part has some corrosion ... was pretty much the same deal with my KW V3 on old car...road crap just piles up.....smarter this time, lube'd the whole damn thing.

And, no I don't have a lift - why?

I'm STILL waiting to hear back...according to my local shop..they have an outstanding warranty claim with Bilstein for 6months(7 now)..

Quite frankly, if you had to send them your suspension back first before they send you new ones..you're better off buying new ones. I'm not sure if I will be going with Bilstein next time around, they seem to have a pretty horrible after-sale service.

That is crap quality. No way the chrome should come off or pit.

Speaks very poorly of their quality

That's crazy Ben - can't believe this hasn't been resolved. I would have thought Bilstein would have had good service. Always figured they had top notch products. I hope they finally get this resolved for you soon.

Honestly, I forgot about bugging them after my trip until someone revived this thread, haha. The new ones are fantastic, no issues at all...but refund process is definitely not fun.

Update: I heard back from Turner today..they tell me my warranty claim has been accepted and I have been refunded. I don't see the credit on my card yet, but should appear in a few.

I'm glad everything got sorted out. Other than the issues you had with these, how do these ride?

I really like the ride on these, I feel like they are more comfortable since I daily drive my car. I haven't gotten a chance to track yet, so I can't tell the real improvements in cornering. However, taking onramps and such definitely feels more neutral than before.

Also, I see the refund processed on my account as of today.
