2008 e92 Price Check

Thinking of picking up a 2008 E92 BMW M3 tomorrow.

24k miles, 1 owner, clean carfax, AW DCT Fully Loaded for 34k. Also, having a PPI scheduled at BMW today.

08s seem relatively reliable from what I have read?Initially was looking at newer model years, but thought this was a decent deal for a clean car. Any issues I should look for before buying? The price sounds right to me.

Try to get a sample of engine oil if possible and send it to Blackstone lab for oil analyses. You definitely want to know what is the condition of rod bearings of that engine. Especially on 2008 model. Good luck

Thanks for the info and it prompted me to do more research on the rod bearing failure threads. I don't have the option of getting the oil analysis by tomorrow - car is out of state and I'm planning to purchase while visiting a sick relative. I guess I will have to risk it or wait for another M3.

Glad to know about what my 08 is worth. Mine has 30K miles on it and is fully loaded too. I think I might sell it this summer.

After exhausting searching for the right M3, I finally picked this car up yesterday for 33,300. There was no accident / bodywork on the car.

I would check craigslist, cars.com, autotrader, and the forums religiously. This vehicle was actually a car posted for sale on this forum.

Congrats on the pickup! See you around the area! I used to live in Ballston -- till I got tired of my balls being squeeze by rental and housing prices. It's a great area though - a lot going on

Had I known you were looking, I could have helped in your search through the small dealership my dad and I run on the side. We've been giving folks access to dealer auctions with a flat pass-through fee for the paperwork etc. Anyone in the DC/Philly area is welcome ping me

Haha, yea. I pay way too much to live in a box here, but I value my time (commute to work, nightlife, etc.).

I did have access to some auctions too, carmax, manheim, but I am very picky, and most would not have the criteria I wanted - (1 owner, low miles, ability to see in person prior to buying, white, etc.)

With that said, I think I got a pretty good deal. It was hard to find a nice white M3. Most of the lower priced ones seemed to be either black or red and had 3+ owners.
