Why? Production worker's 1st week back on the job after 4-5 weeks of vacation
Of course being a Monday wk 35 Build vs Friday may also make a big difference

I was being somewhat facetious, but it would worry me a little getting a car from the first production week of a new model year and coming off a several-week plant shut down.

I talked with my CA today, and they bumped my car up in allocation because another buyer is going to Europe so now I have a second week in September production. I hope I get a PCD date soon. w00t.

Has anyone with a week 37 production (or later) been able to see their status on the BMWNA website?

When I asked the dealer why Iam unable to see my status, (correction), I have a 112 status, but It says nothing else and I cannot complete my registration. I was informed you will be able to track it after the car goes into production.

Can someone who has ordered a car before please confirm this? I did bother to track my 08 that I had ordered.

Thank you

Scott, I have the same issue with my '09 (week 36) order, and my CA said the same thing, so nothing unusual there. When I ordered my E46, I was able to register the production number much earlier. I'm sure it has to do with the change over in MY.

For all you week 36 guys and gals, Just came from the dealership.
My car is in status 150 and showing production started. No more changes.

They gave me a copy of the Vehicle Inquiry: Wholesale/ MSRP report
I know to the penny what my car will cost me now.

Any questions, feel free to PM me.

Phew, I guess I got lucky. Today, I decided to drop the extended leather option from my order. As of today, my car is still scheduled for week 36 production, but it's still in Status 112, so the change went through.

Has anyone with a Sept delivery added the 'Smarthphone' option? My CA was able to add this, and my status is still 112.

I was reading on the forums that the option will not be available until October.

Want to hear something funny? That's the reason I went down there, to change the color of the car and an option.

They said so sorry, to lateeeee, no changeeeeeee.
What day does week 36 start on? now I am worried, do I have week 35 if it's say's 150 production started?

Thanks, Scott

Interesting. I may ask my dealer whether this is available or I may attempt to retrofit it later. I'm not sure when you added the Smartphone option, but you may want to check to make sure that it didn't automatically delay your production date to October.

Week 36 is September 1 - 5. I don't know if cars go into Status 150 a couple of days before they actually begin life on the assembly line or if your order got bumped up into the infamous Week 35. The (800) number might be able to help you out in this regard. They should be able to tell you a specific day for start of production.

If you don't mind me asking, what color/option were you attempting to change? Anything major?

I just got off the phone with BMWNA, Jeff told me that my car is in production and the car will be finished next Tue. It's the week of completion the determines week build. Next week is week 36. He said I should have the car the first week in OCT.

I was toying with changing the color from space grey to that blue lagos and wanted to see a picture of the other blue they had.

And after reading about all the problems with the Enhanced Premium sound I was thinking about deleting it.

well it's to late now as I have every option except the sun shade, and the smart phone option.

Space grey, and the silver leather.

Wow, that's a really fast turnaround, and probably much less time than you expected to be without an M3. I was originally expecting to get my car early November, but now that it's been bumped up, looks like I'll probably get mine soon after you get yours. Woo hoo.

Not to give you any regrets, because I'm sure you'll be happy with the space gray, but I actually changed my order from space gray to Interlagos blue after I saw both in person side by side.

Wow, I guess I missed those posts and I've ordered 752. What problems are being reported? [I'll search, but please post or PM me a link]

OK, I found this thread: http://http://www.m3post.com/forums/...d.php?t=166674
Are these the problems you are referencing?

Man same thing happened to me today. I was looking at the Silver leather and thinking you know why not add it for another $1450 plus the Homelink so I talked to my CA today and told him to add the Premium Package. Well he called me back and said too late I have a VIN number for you. It was an implulse choice so I am more happy that my car is in production. I think he was late in doing the Performance Center Delivery paperwork as I don't have a date for that yet. I am so excited. I hope I am the first E92 Coupe 6MT with Le Mans blue and Speed Cloth.

I just talked to my delear. He said my final production complete date is now 9/9 - the status is now 150.

However, I still can't bring it up on the BMWNA Website using my production number. When I called the 1-800 number, it said that my production date is not confirmed.

Is this normal? When is the VIN available from the CA?

I'm in exactly the same situation with a production date of 9/6/08, so nothing unnormal is going on. The VIN should be available a few days before production or when production starts. As difficult as it is, we just have to be patient.

Hmm my CA got me my VIN number Thursday of last week, and it was available at the website that day. Mine should finish production this week.
