Mercedes AMG C-Class Coupe

Have an M3 now but couple of my friends have the AMG C-Class Sedan (lots of torque but not as lively and tossable as the M3). Anyone think the new coupe looks sorta like a Honda Accord coupe (not that that looks bad).

That's exactly what I think it looks like and IMO that's bad. Who wants to spend about 70k to be confused w/ an accord? Glad somebody else sees it.

I have a MB C350 as a DD it is not bad, I know you are talking about the C6.3 believe me when I say, no matter how it looks there is not much out there that feels like a Bimmer

Mind you my M3 and my DD never fight with one another, in the garage that is

It doesn't photo well but in person looks nothing like an Accord in my opinion. Very aggressive looking. Having said that, I still prefer the look of the M3... it is a better overall design. The interior of the new C63 AMG coupe though is miles ahead of the M3.

Also, the new coupe has a revised suspension and is far more tossable than the pre 2012 model year sedans. If the older version was 85% as good as the M3, then the new coupe is 95% as good... still not as good but very close. However, the P31 package with 481hp and 443ft/lbs of torque is just nuts.

Overall though I still think the M3 is the better package for the track with the C63 coupe being a better overall package for the street with its mounds of torque. You just have to love the M3 though!

Plus its comfort suspension is 10x better then the M3's.

I'd rather the Amg C coupe over the Cts V Coupe. That car looks like it swallowed itself from the rear.

Atleast the m3 and the outgoing line of bimmers such as the e90, e60's, had an unmistakable unique look to them with absolutely no other cars looking anything like them. I cannot say the same for the new 7, 5 and now 3 series. Especially the new 5 looks like so many other things

This is the same for the new mercedes that are almost similar to cadillacs in the sense they look like many other cars and are not distinguishable nearly easily enough

Agreed, the new M class Merc suv looks like a jeep/explorer clone, in which I actually like the ford more. Hope this isn't that strong of a trend and we get back to uniqueness and stray from this cookie cutter car look,. Even though I hate the looks of the CTS-V at least it looks different.

The CTS-V is a great example of why it's hard to look different... it polarizes people.

If the CTS-V had less of an extreme look, it would be more popular. We may not like it but there is a reason cars look alike and its because the majority of people prefer somewhat similar designs. Stray too far from that (CTS-V, Pontiac Aztec, Nissan Juke) and some people will love it and some will hate it. I have to imagine this polarizing effect hurts sales.

I have to agree ... when I ordered my wife's car (she came from a Jag into the Benz, it is what she wanted since before the Jag she drove a 300 series AMG and loved it) after she and I test drove it, I made sure I put every option on it including AMG wheels

I love to drive her C350 4MATIC as a change of pace and look forward driving it this winter when I give my M3 a bit of a rest.

I saw you over on mbworld. You are selling your 2011 m3 and have a c63 coupe on order right? Good choice. They are both great cars. c63s are loads of fun.

Rolf, my father will be leasing a 12' C350 Sport in just 2-3 weeks. Should he go for it? Any drawbacks?

Yep... that's me. It's bitter sweet really. I love the M3... I mean I LOVE the M3. If it weren't for some professional considerations it wouldn't be going. Having said that, the new C63 coupe is really quite amazing and a real step up over previous years. I think it is better than the M3 in some ways (interior, torque, power) and behind in others (looks, handling slightly, and has a smaller enthusiast following). Both are great but I will be sad to give up the M3 regardless as to how nice the C63 coupe is. Ironically, at the same time, it is exciting to be getting something new.

Thank You! He'll be driving 100 miles to and from work. He needs a comfortable, smooth, and quiet car. I have a feeling the C350 is exactly that!

gthal- Once you get the C63, it would be interesting to get a write up comparing both from someone that has owned both.

Nice. They have made a lot of changes to the suspension and interior for 2012. What color? Did you go with the development package? With all that torque, esp. down low without having to wind it up, it makes a great daily . Also, that engine sounds amazing.
