Canadian car - in production

I am a new member but have been enjoying learning for several months now on the forum. I appreciate all the insights from you guys. Have learned an awful lot more here than I could have ever learned from my dealer or elsewhere, that's for sure.

I got a VIN on my e92 M3 Silverstone this morning so I guess that means I'm one step closer to delivery.... my dealer tells me I'm Production Week 5 (this week I guess) and "Vehicle Status 54 Serial Number Assigned to Car" (I don't know if he means 154...)

We don't have the Owner's Circle here in Canada so have to rely on the sales guys to give us updates....

Here are my specs:

A29 - Silverstone Metallic
NCSW - Black Novillo Lthr
ZAA - MDrive Package
ZAC - Audiophile Sound Package
223 - EDC
2MT - 19" wheels
4MY - Carbon Black Leather Trim
507 - PDC
760 - High Gloss Shadow Line

PS. my first post was a small contribution this morning on the e46 M3 forum based on a mechanical issue I had last summer. Hope its helpful to someone - when I searched the forum I couldn't find anything similar.

Did the dealer happen to give you a price for the Canadian spec model etc.?

Thanks

Uhn..

Sorry no, unfortunately not, although he did commit in writing to nothing over MSRP, whatever that turns out to be.... He pencilled in C$90,000 base because he didn't know the price. My best guess is C$80-85,000 but its only a guess / wishful thinking. I figure there will be enough demand for this car that he'll let me off the hook if the price turns out to be too high.

Update: my car has been shipped and is due to arrive in Canada in a week. Will hopefully make it to my dealer by March 8th release date....although won't really be able to drive it until the snow melts...

Congrats m3tor!

I see you opted for "High-Gloss shadow line". It seems to be an option unique to canada. "Shadowline Trim" appears as standard on the exterior of the M3 in the US. (No mention of "high-gloss" and not an option.)

Does anyone know what exactly this $795 (!) option buys you? My salesman hasn't been able to explain it to me all that well. (I searched quickly and it only seems to appear in posts by canadians...)

Shadowline and high gloss shadow line are the same thing, its just that different territories refer to it slightly differently .... they are both option code 760. In the USA, option 760 comes as standard.

Thanks - but what do I get if I don't opt for 760? (dull plastic?) And is it around the mirrors / windows?

Maybe I should buy it in Seattle...

Thanks Catahoula. My car has been stuck on a railcar in Concord, Ontario, since Sunday, waiting to be unloaded... apparently its pretty busy up there so they're telling me it won't arrive at my dealer before the end of the week, then it still needs to be prepped, so its unlikely I'll get it on the 8th. The wait is killing me...

I can't give you a specific description of high-gloss shadow line either...its just around the windows I think, not the mirrors but not sure... but I think the high-gloss looks better - the non-high-gloss looks dull if you look at the two together IMO. I've also heard other posters say that the high-gloss finish complements the glossy finish on the carbon roof well

These concept pics show the high gloss shadow line pretty well, especially around the rear windows

Now I'm getting mixed messages out of BMW.... BMW Toronto is telling me that the only reason for the delay at the Concord rail facility is that the facility is backed up and I'll get my car as soon as Concord can unload it and get it on a truck.

But I just spot-checked that with a couple of other Toronto-area dealers and, while they're not expecting cars until Saturday (except Durham obviously), they told me that its because BMW Canada isn't letting them release from Concord until the 8th.

Looks like the dealer will be stuck with me all day Saturday while I wait for it to be delivered.
