Week 18-20 production
Hello all,
Haven't posted much but have been lurking here for months. I was number 5 at my local dealership in Illinois and around 10 days ago I placed my order and got my production number. My CA said that I am week 20 production. On the OC website it just says "on order". Today I spoke to customer relations and they said that I am between week 18 and 20. Reading other posts it seems that other people are getting their orders delayed. My questions are: 1) Since CR said week 18-20 today do you think I am safe from delays? 2) Did I get a good production week because of my dealers allocation/status with bmw or did my dealer get me a production number awhile ago and just add my specs once I was sure what I wanted? 3) Does anyone know when week 18 production is? 4) Will OC website ever say anything besides "on order" until the actual production starts? My CA is a decent guy but has no real clue. I know more about the car through "studying" this website than he will ever know. Thanks in advance for the answers to these questions. Based on my experience thus far:
(1) You can get delayed at any time. I was one week away from my production week and got pushed back 5 weeks. (2) I'll let someone else chime in. (3) Week 18 begins April 27 (4) It will change to "Scheduled For Production" a few days after your car is actually in production. It's 2-3 days delayed. Your dealer has the most current info available. |

all these people on waiting list still and yet some claim there are a bunch of cars laying around that dealers can't sell. Also people getting discounts...shoot i don't see it.

Cars.com says that there are 9 m3's in a 25 mile radius of chicago. out of those 9 cars only one is DCT, and that one is white with a sunroof and black interior.
Based on popular opinion on this website AW with sunroof and black interior is less desirable than aw and fr interior with CF roof. My point is, the cars that are available are not the fully loaded "prime" m3's. btw, there is a almost fully loaded aw fr cf 6mt coupe for sale at one of the suburban dealers. --waiting for my space grey fr cf m-dct. |
