You're on the right track with the microfiber towels. Make sure that they are the real high quality ones though.
Then, get a can of those foamy window cleaner, or a bottle of Adam's window cleaner: http://www.detailersdomain.com/index...PROD&ProdID=53 Or the Swissvax Crystal Glass: http://www.detailersdomain.com/index...ROD&ProdID=319

The ink acts as a mild abrasive, and it has no lint. Makes your hands dirty, but otherwise works great. It's also a form of recycling, I guess.

the best and simplest solution to clean windows:
take a spray bottle and put a little dishwashing detergent in it and fill the rest with water. Spray on your windows and use a sponge. Then rinse with clean water. Just like washing dishes. No fancy car product or window cleaner works as good as dishwashing detergent. It's specifically made to cut grease. Until I learned this tip I struggled for ever trying to get rid of a film left on my windshield from overspray from a detailing spray, nothing would clean it off.

Newspaper is pretty useful. just dont use it til it falls apart, then its pointless. but if you use newspaper the right way its perfect for streak free windows. first time i heard about this years ago i was skeptical. but it works really well and i do it every time now

A mf cloth folded neatly and then pulled slowly with moderate-to-light pressure across the glass (careful not to let the cloth wrinkle) is really all you need if you're drying the glass. If you're trying to clean the glass, you can try the following (in order): -glass cleaner (I prefer stoner's invisible glass) & mf cloth (or newspaper) -vinegar & water mix & mf cloth -non-abrasive polish Be meticulous. |

+ 1 on the detergent. thatll probably help get all that junk off the window. when i try to clean my windows, i notice that my MF towels leave a streak of lint. theres always some sort of sticky stuff (maybe tree sap) on my windows that prevent me from getting a nice clear clean.
try not to get too my detergent on the car body though, prob will take some wax/clear coat off |

Yep, it'll take them right off too. Pretty easy to keep it on the glass though, just gotta use a little care while doing so.

In fact you can spray a little dish detergent water mix directly on a sponge so not to make a mess all over the body of the car.
I try not to use any of my MF towels cause there is usually left over detailing spray in them and that's the stuff that smears up the windows.

Yeah, newspaper works very good believe it or not! The downside is that it will prolly leave some balled up "droppings" on the dash. Just wipe the dash with a MF towel after and you are good to go.

Actually, Costco did (and possibly still does) have some really good mf towels in bulk packs for cheap. Good excuse to have a healthy supply of mf towels. One other random comment on mf towels, never dry them with fabric softeners. The softeners bond to the towel, affecting how well they can absorb. |
