Tint shop in Adelaide experienced with e92 M3
I was wondering if any e92 M3 owners have had their rear windshield successfully tinted in Adelaide? I had to get my rear windshield re tinted after purchasing a M3 from interstate and getting it passed through Regency to get it registered.
The tint shop done a reasonable job I think but I am not a 100% happy with the dot matrix at the top of the rear windshield. I have done a bit of research and can see this is a very common problem, especially on the e92 M3. I remember the original tint was not great in the dot matrix area either.I have been to a couple of tint shops around Adelaide and they have all said the same thing about the e92 M3 rear windshield is notoriously tough to do and close to impossible to get perfect. I have seen online that some people used a solid black vinyl strip to cover the dot matrix but both of the tint shops have never used this method and I didnt want to be the first guinea pig. Is there any E92 M3 owners that had their back windshield successfully tinted (especially the dot matrix)??? |

One of our M3s has rear window tinted.
We cut the tint just before the dot matrix so you don't get that bubbled up look. Because the dot matrix is just dense black dots, it gives the dark look that matches with the tint. I can post up some pics later tonight if you're interested in seeing. |

Doesnt look too bad I guess, be interesting what it looks like up close.
Has anybody had the strip of black vinyl installed? Ive seen photos of it on other forums (from USA i think) and it looked ok (the darker the tint the better it looked) but things often look better online. |

I was hoping it would settle down with time but the 'unattached' tint is still like the day it was installed.... It's not the tinkers fault I know.
When I get a chance to pop in & see Trent @ TKO & I'll see what he thinks about the black vinyl option. I'll update the thread with my findings.. |

Yeah, I would rather not apply to dot matrix or vinyl applied.
No way was I going to get it tinted on the dot matrix - seen it too many times and it does not look good |
