My six month old car blew a strut!!

No, not my E90... It's never been in the shop for anything.

Actually, it's my wife's 2006 Honda Civic that the strut blew out on. Ain't that something? I guess Honda's aren't as bullet-proof as I thought. Actually, I love Honda's and accept that things like this happens. I just thought is was funny that it happened to such a new car.

I have heard of a couple of folks having serious front-end suspension problems with the 06 Civics.

I don't think she hit anything because the alignment is still spot-on. Normally, if you hit a pothole to blow out the strut, the alignment goes to shi*

Vegas is HOT, but still a pretty cool place to live.

Over about a two-week period, it started to progressively make a harsh metal-on-metal sound as you went over speed bumps.

This sounds like a very serious safety issue. I would suggest that you refer to the front section of the Owner's Manual, where you will find the name and tel. number for reporting safety issues.

Garage List
Was she trying to drive it like a BMW and it just couldn't handle it?

I have researched the new Hondas a bit. The coupes are having quality issues. The rear windows have on occasion blown out, and in many cases come loose. The alignment on some Civics is really off, that is they drift all over the place and can be dangerous.

So they are pumping these things out like crazy, since they are such a good deal, but I'd be interested to see Initial Quliaty numbers on this 8th Gen Honda.

It's funny because even when she does drive the Bimmer she doesn't drive it like a Bimmer.... She's one of those 'delicate' drivers....
