245/265 or 245 /275 should both work. tire rack has the best prices I have found.

you could run the PS2 but will ruin the front tire real quick.

I bought mine from tirerack. They had the best prices I could find, and great service.

Did the stock rims come with PS2s? If so, considering you are a beginner, you might just want to stick to those for the time being.

thanks guys....i was thinking about running the PS2's but I know they'll wear out too quick for my liking, going to sell them to recoup the cost of R1's...

Keep in mind that the tires are significantly shorter than the standard size. This contributes to the "smaller" look.

Lucid - If one were to use a square setup how would the TE 37 18x9.5 et 28 all around with 265/35 tires and perhaps a 5mm spacer in back work? I'd like a non-staggered for simplicity reasons and I'm a little concerned about using the TR Motorosports 18x10 in the front, even with 265 width tires. I know the TE 37s cost more, but they are an awfully nice light wheel.

I don't think you would need a spacer in the the back with 28 offset. Plus if you want to use a 5mm spacer, you'll probably need a hub extender since 5mm spacers are flat and would not leave you with much lip. Not worth it IMO.

Turner sells a 18x10 square Forgeline set up. He had 275s on them at the track, and didn't seem to be having any issues. You can call them and ask about the offset on their setup. I suspect it is in the 25-28 region.

I prefer having more rubber in the back given it is not that hard to oversteer the car on throttle.

P.S. My Dinan springs, bump stops, guide supports, and camber plates will be installed on Friday, and I'll test them out in WGI on Monday and let you guys know how they did.

lucid - I am looking for track tires/wheels for my E92. I have been using BFG G Force R1 245/40/17 on Ronal SX 8X17 with 25mm Front and 21mm Rear H&R Spaces. Car is my 525 (E36 modified powered and other goodies) and they have worked very well. I take it you would recommend BFG R1s for the E92, but what size, different for front and rear? Also, rim size? Spacers? Long term, breaks and suspension will be changed if the car is to become my HPDE driver. Thanks

More on BFGs: I spent ~3 hrs in one day at NHMS with PSC+s last year. They held up well in 45 minute sessions and lots of bite. So that is my baseline for the BFG R1 comparison. BFGs fared significantly better than the PSC+s IMO. I could lean much more on the BFGs. I got a little sideways going over the hill at Lime Rock, and bringing it in was not a problem. Fast turns at LRP, so apart from that one incident I can't say more about their predictibility at the very limit. I would get the car in somewhat of a slide in the esses and there was nothing unsettling. They were pretty stable under heavy braking although I kind of got the feeling the PSC+s might have been crisper there (less wiggling around), but that might just be my perception. Hope this helps. Member sayemthree ran BFGs on this car for the entire season last year, and he is more experienced than I am, so you might check with him for more info.

Note: Keep in mind the PSC+s I am referencing are 19"-245/265 and have even less contact patch than regular PSCs since the grooves are wider for better wet traction.

would you go 295-30 or 295-35 in the rear if BFG made that size? My track setup was exactly the same as yours 265-35 285-30.. and the balance was to much on the oversteer side of things... i had other issues too but 285-30 sidewall is so thin. its hard to get compliance in some situations....

I am going to try a PSC 265-30 295-30 for my next setup...

I was considering the exact same thing for my next set--going 265/295. I do find that with the camber plates and pushing the car hard, there is plenty of oversteer. Not sure why so many people think a square setup is the way to go on this car, but then I haven't tried that, so I don't know. I haven't looked into the 295 BFG options, but I think they only come in a 30 sidewall?

exactly..... Just because its been popular in the past i guess... but this car has the power to need fat rubber in the back... and has great balance staggerd...

and im not sure bfg has a 295 period...

you're right. they don't have it in 295. you'd have to go hoosiers with a 275/295 setup. if you get the spacing right, you can fit that combo. they're $50 per tire more than BFGs though.

i looked at that setup.... griiiiipppppppy.. didnt have the balls to go for it tho.. but i think with the perfect offsets.. it would work yea...

I suspect 275/295 would be a little too much tire for my 9.5/10.5 rim combo, but technically, one could mount them. I would need spacers to make it work with my setup, but it should be doable. I don't think I'll go for it though.
