Wheel and Tire Sizes

I have a 2008 M3 Coupe with the factory 19's on it. I want to get another set of wheels/tires for driving events. I am looking at the beyern rims. I would like to get Hoosier, Nitto or Falken tires. Discount Tire is recommending I go with 275/35/18 in the rear and 245/40/18 in the front. (The factory 19's are 265/35/19 and 245/35/19). If I go as recommended, will this mess up my traction control (DSC)? Or otherwise, negatively impact handling? I am new to this so any advice/recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

No, but you will have more understeer. If it were me i'd go 255 up front and 285 in the rears

Big tyres on the back and small tyres on the front, the back pushes the car straight ahead because there's not enough rubber upfront to turn the car into corners, putting it a simple way.

There are other factures such as the weight of the front car, HP generated at the back wheels, Locker diffs, suspension setup, alighment etc.

But 245's onthe front is little to small for a M3 V8.

I am sure someone will give you a 1000 word technical discription of the above should you require a more detailed version.

Buy a set of pretty wheels you like for the street and put a set of Michelin Pilot Sport Cups on the factory 19s. They are available in the factory size for the M3.

Thanks. I thought about that, but the Sport Cups are so expensive.
Mr. Harris (or anybody else), if I go with 255 and 285 18's, would they be 30 and 35 or 35 and 40?

These (Pilot Sports Cup) are an option from BMW in the UK, and mine come fitted with them. I have swapped them out to preserve them for track events, etc. They are 245/35/19 fronts, and 265/35/19 rears.

Better off saying what it does not have and that's a B&O Audio System, otherwise all option boxes are ticked.
