GG 3in orbital.........
Was considering getting Griot's 3inch orbital for small spaces, but the reviews i've seen aren't too promising.......lack of power being the popular complaint. Any experience with one from anyone here? Thanks

I think the 3" is really for detailed work and not meant to replace the main, larger unit. A popular use in when restoring headlights.

For use in correction pass and pick up a used PCXP and get a smaller BP. The GG 3" really lacks a bit of power to do any corrections. If it's just used to jewel the paint works fine but you can stop it if too much pressure applied so be careful.

I owned a GG3 for about 2 days...I learned in the process that this machine is great to be used on door pillars, mirrors and other specialty places, but so is the GG or PC DA with a 3' backing plate...I wouldn't reconmend buying one unless you just want to spend the money for a polisher that won't have much use...that's my opinion

if you can spend another $18.00 go to the link bellow and buy a PC DA and put a 3' backing plate on it and have it just for those tight places...it will do a much better job at correcting and polishing...you won't regret it
In my detail studio I have 4 DAs...all with different backing plates so that I don't have to stop and waist time exchanging them. go here http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listi...condition=used Last edited by FI PETE; 01-04-2013 at 05:13 PM.. Reason: add more info |

^That's pretty cheap. Another cheap option is harbor freight's DA which is $50 right now http://www.harborfreight.com/power-t...her-69924.html
Been planning to get some 3 or 4" pads for the bumpers. |
