2011 BMW M3 with Dinan Stage 1 Suspension

Here's a 2011 M3 that came in for a slightly lower stance and improved handling. Dinan's Stage 1 suspension kit was a good fit to give this BMW everything it needed. While helping to reduce body roll while retaining full EDC functionality, it lowers the car by 1/2" in front and rear for improved suspension geometry and an even more aggressive stance. We added the suspension kit and performed a full street alignment to keep everything performing flawlessly.

Parts Installed:
BMW M3 E9x Stage 1 Suspension System (EDC Cars Only) by Dinan

To the build!

Time to remove OEM front springs

And since we love comparing the OEM parts to the new, we always take at least one or two pictures of side by sides.
The Dinan next to the OE spring

And the Dinan next to the OE strut mount (OE is the left and Dinan the right)

And the Dinan front spring is installed

On to the rear springs

Rear spring left and the new Dinan right (Does the Dinan spring seem super shiny to anyone else or is it just "new part glow"? )

Dinan spring in

Removing the rear shocks

We reinstall the shocks, with some nice new bushings, put the carpet back and off to the alignment rack.

With the alignment done, this bad boy is ready to go conquer the street again.

Nice. Some spacers would look great to help the 220s fill out the wheel-well.

They sure would. We stock H&R spacers for all the European vehicles if anyone needs a set!

I have powder coated 220Ms and the best thing I ever did to them was add 18/15mm spacers. Can't explain how much better looking the car is and also more planted at high speeds and fast corning.

Looks great! I loved the Stage 1 on my first e92 but sadly I rubbed with 12mm spacers in the back w/stock size CS3's of all tires. I like Dinan's approach, if I were to lower again I'd throw my old Stage 1 back on.

It may settle a few MM's, but not likely much. The Dinan Stage one is not a very aggressive drop, but does improve handling and appearance.

This car will be back in the shop next week so we will add some pictures to show how it looks after a few months.

We have a few different ones and most work for multiple applications. Which one are you referring to? The one on the wall in the shop or the handheld one? Didn't see either in the shots in this post but wanted to get you the info.

Looks good but, was the strut assembly hanging on the brake line during the install?

IIRC when I did my front coilover install the strut assembly would stop sagging due to the bushings binding before the brake lines started being pulled on.

If you look closely you can see that there is not tension on the brake line.
