droid and m3
Hey guys,
New here, Just had a question thought maybe someone could help me out... I just got the new droid phone from verizon and for some reason I can get my address book to transfer to my car. I know I paired the phone with the car correctly because when I make a call, the call goes through the Cars bluetooth... I just cant seem to get the address book to bluetooth over... Could it be the new google 2.0 operating system's address book isnt recognized by the car? any help would be much appreciated! Thanks |

how do you connect the Droid to Aux? Right now, I have the included adaptor that plugs into the iPhone/iPod. Do I need another wire/adaptor to use the Droid as a music player?
Thanks. |

I don't have a MicroSD expansion card in, I'm not sure if that changes anything but I need to pick up one anyway.

From what I can gather from the manual, all non-iPod devices must show up as a USB mass-storage device. The music must be in MP3, WMA, WAV, or AAC format.
My guess is that the file system would also have to be either FAT or FAT32. Try connecting the droid by straight USB to the port in the arm rest NOT the one in the glove box compartment. Also don't use the iPod Y-cable, use the usb cable that came with the droid. If the droid is unable to identify itself as a USB mass-storage device, I don't think you'll have any luck. (I know for windows mobile phones you need to download a mass-storage device emulator. Otherwise, it shows up as a composite device or something.) |

I got a droid as well. It appears that the pairing worked correctly I can see my address book and make/receive calls. The only thing that I'm wondering about is that the screen on my car only shows the signal strength icon and not the phone. My last phone was a XV6800 and when paired it showed a phone icon and a signal icon... Is anyone else seeing this? It just makes me thing the address book might night fully be syncing..

Really??
It was always on my display when connect to my old phone even without a missed call. I guess I need to just look at the manual. I thought for some reason that icon ment the phone was fully connected/synced

The only way that I get a phone icon in my iDrive is when I miss a call while connected to the iDrive. To clear/remove that icon you need to clear the missed call record in the iDrive.

Just an fyi, I also have the droid from verizon, got it the day it came out.. it did connect to my m3 however it has issues placing calls with the phone cuz the droid locks automatically just like the iphone after sitting for awhile and this phone is not yet a bmw approved model so they haven't fixed that little issue that'll bypass the lock screen as they have already done with the bmw approved iphone... you can see the approved phones by looking up bmw.com/approvedphones or something similar to that..
