Burning smell from new Eisenmann
I just installed an Eisenmann Race black series on my new E90. I drove it to work this morning and it reaks of burnt plastic. I know i installed it perfectly since i spent about 5 hours and took my time. I'm assuming this is normal since it's new but i'd like some others to make me feel better and agree.
Thanks |

This smell is the packing material burning in. As the exhaust breaks in the smell will dissapear and the sound will stabilize.

Nice. I have a house at Lake Lure and will be there Sat through Mon. If you're gonna be nearby let me know and we can get the cars together.
There's also "The Vintage" over in Old Salem. I went last year with my E28 when it was at the vineyard, lots of great old bmw's. |

it takes about a week to get the burning smell out and when it does the sound will be amplified by at least 25% from my experience

Yeah. I had mine fitted on Tuesday. I think it is getting louder! Love it. Burning smell is still there. Nothing to worry about. Apart from the great sound the pipes look superb. Fit was dead easy. Cost me £50.

I did it myself and there is some sort of rattling over bumps. I just went in for my 1200 mile service this AM and they didn't see anything wrong.
Weird! Guess i'll pop it up this weekend and take a look myself since it's incredibly annoying. |
