Have not had used a front plate in over 7 years and have not encountered any problems at all. Mentioned to my SA to not install a front plate, and emphasized the importance. He mentioned the cars come w/o a front plate here in California, however the dealer installs, and it would not be a problem at al.

To be honest, this still worries me, and I will most certainly be reminding my SA closer to delivery.

Ah dang .. that's not cheap. After I got one fix it from parking in SF I started to keep tally on how many don't have a front plate here. It was like 30% at least.

I never had a front license plate on my 2001 M3 and I got pulled over only once by a NJ state trooper. The ticket was around $50, which I gladly paid.

I believe the front license plate is installed at the dealership, not at the factory. I'm going to ask my CA to take my license plate bracket and keep it in his office.

I guess your pretty lucky, but i just dont want the hassle of getting pulled over, wait for them to check your profile and stuff, which can waste a lot of time.

I think that gominigo tow hook license plate holder might not be a good idea because it comes out alot, if im parallel parking and the car in front of me is close it could use the it or cause damage...

True, but I hate the look of the front plate. Since I only got stopped once in six years I'll take the chance. I like that gomingo tow hook, but I'll only use it to have my car pass state inspection. Actually, the car will pass inspection as long as the plate is in the front windshield. It does not have to be attached to the front bumper.

That depends on the state, I suppose. Zip tying it to the front lower grille would work temporarily (wouldn't want to block airflow for too long, though).

You're correct Greg, I'm talking about New Jersey. I took my E46 M3 through the state inspection station with my license plate in the front windshield, and it passed. It was a pain trying to zip tie the plate to the grill because I didn't have quick access behind the grill.
