Official Shotgun Thread

This thread is for the firearms enthusiasts to talk about scatter guns. We were waiting and hoping the admins would give us a dedicated OT sub-forum for firearms discussions before starting more firearms threads. Since that hasn't happened yet I'm starting this thread. So have at it guys. Post some picks of your shotguns and lets start talking.

Personally I don't own any, but I've been able to shoot both the Benelli 1014 and a short barreled, full stock 870 in my time in the Marines. The 870 is a classic design, but I favor the 1014.

I just have a Beretta A400 Extreme Unico. It is a good clay and waterfowl gun. not that great for home defense due to its size IMO, although the recoil and semiauto features would help it a bit.

It's difficult to get pics of shotguns.... But here are a few.

My Cordoba... Love this shotgun! What a reliable, soft recoil, fast shooting, light, easy to aim, shotgun. I shot the crap out of this one day, probably 400 rounds of clay shooting between me and a few friends. Don't ask how but i forgot to clean it when i got home and totally forgot about it until the next time i shot it....7 months later. And this was before my humidity controlled safe was available too. Took it out of it's case at the range and while it looked a bit dirty, it worked flawlessly.

I agree...I actually have an M4 and it's great. I can even go skeet shooting with it and it's pretty accurate. Right up there with my buddy who has a super nova and a Vinci.

Mossberg 500?

What kind of shells do you keep in it for home defense?

Given that my wife would hang on to that and stay in the room while i may be outside of the room, there is currently turkey shot in it. Not what you'd call a take down round, but as i said in the home defense thread, i don't think anyone wants to get shot with anything.

Seems like when you see videos of criminals getting shot on security cameras they don't stop to see what caliber they being shot with. They just continue to run away from the person shooting at them.

Mom gave me the cash for a Mossberg 500 Combo on my 18th. My son and I went and shot a bunch of clays last week for the first time. To place the ammo, I had some light game load that I bought at Big 5 for $3.94 and the thing worked flawlessly. I am still a great shot with the short barrel and pistol grip, I love hitting clays off the hip with that setup. The magnum slugs are in the sling in positions 2-5, I want to give the guy a chance to run away after the first slide of the barrel. . .
