Possible e90 M3 purchase
Hi everyone, I am looking for some feedback on the following purchase.
I found 2008 e90 M3 ESS 535 supercharged with mileage 64k. The car has a small accident though. Carfax mention it is has been in accident but auto check reports an accident and after 6 months it is reported in auction with unibody damage. Title is clear and everything else checks out. Private Seller showed me ppi that he did before buying the car to prove there is no frame damage on car and said that auctions flag many cars for unibody damage so that no dealers comeback for liabilities. Any feedback is appreciated Last edited by Honda; 11-27-2014 at 11:55 PM.. |

Car doesn't sound like it was well taken care of. Personally, I would keep hunting. It's a 2008 and S/C ed.......rod bearing questions will come up. GL.................Phil

Thanks for your feedback. I can change the rod bearings if thats the problem. The problem I am facing is unibody damage flag on auto check. I am sure he is facing a hell of time selling the car right now thats why he is selling it for cheap 25k including ESS kit, I don't know if I will be the next victim if I pull the trigger.

My car as the same unibody thing come out on the carfax, there was one dealer that went by autocheck and low balled me because of the "unibody" damage bs. I went the other dealers and they all went by carfax which is 100% guarantees no unibody. Autocheck is garbage and I honestly think auctions f shit up on purpose. If you really want the car have a ppi done. With that said I don't think an 08 with highish miles and a supercharger is a good idea. If you did buy it is get the bearings check asap. Also ask the owner if he has a recent oil analysis.

Carfax vs auto check
We had a mercedes where we were shown carfax and it said no accidents, when I went to trade it in some jackass at the dealer said auto check said accident... It said no collision accident.. What the heck does that even mean.. Dealer lowballed me of course... Brought to another dealer and he told me that it could have been a broken window.. Auto check reports anything as accident
