So what is the default reliable car now?

Used to be the Camry.

Is it the Accord now? Civic? Fusion?

I would say the accord too...a cousin of mine has been waiting for his to crap out on him so he has an excuse to get into a new car and he's been driving like he stole it for a good solid year now and it has yet to crap out on him or give him any kind of trouble

he's racked over 90,000 miles too since his sister used it to commute from UCSD to fullerton for 2 years.

^tell me about it. i had my 94 accord for 5 years and i didn't even maintain it properly. but it still run until the battery die, i put a total of 100k miles on it in those 5 years with just regular oil change, 1 coolent change, and replace brake pad/rotors and that's it. I got lost on a road trip and took it off roading for a good 30 miles too, ran over some crazy pot holes, and it still ran fine after that. i was too cheap to replace the battery since the car has zero value, gave it to the junk yard instead and bought the m3. what a car...such a testament to japan reliability. LOL

Why wouldn't it still be the Camry? Because 200 people (out of millions) couldn't tell the brake from the gas? We've had 4 Toyotas and all have lasted 200k+ with only oil changes. My dad is at almost 300k on his 4Runner and has only had the clutch (1x), starter (2x), and brake pads (1x) replaced. I would not hesitate to buy a Toyota.

They're all pretty damn reliable these days. If I were shopping for a car in this class I'd buy a Hyundia Sonata. I go through 3-4 rental cars a month, so I've driven all of them, and it's far and away the nicest of the bunch for the money.

The interior has a more expensive feel than the others (I really don't care for the Fusion or the Accord personally) and it's extremely quiet inside.
