Recommendation for oil change

Are there any dealerships that won't rip me off? Fairfax BMW quoted me $250 for oil change and Alexandria quoted me $500 for oil change.

Search came up empty in terms of pricing. I am in Centreville.

$250 really is not bad if they are providing the parts. The car takes a lot of expensive oil and a filter...plus some tech time.

Yeah even with BMWCCA membership-9 Qts of oil comes to $120 (and this does not include the filter which may be $15-$17). Add taxes, labor and supplies and you will touch $200 easy.

If you DIY,,you will save roughly $100. Question is do you have time, patience and tools to get the job done.

buy your oil change kit from getbmwparts.com . I also have a complete oil change kit that I bought from there that I'm looking to sell. I'll let it go at cost, not a penny more to you so you dont' have to wait. I bought it b/c I thought they weren't going to cover my last oil change right before my free maintenance plan ended.

bring your kit here: http://jfmotors.procarcarezone.com/t....asp?id=107958

they're the cheapest indy BMW shop that I'm aware of in the Arlington area, $60 for labor for an E9X M3

no way they quoted you $500 for a change. I was quoted $245 at BMW Alexandria. I think they looked up your VIN and quoted you for air filter and other services as well that is suggested with the interval oil changes. That all lumped together gets you to $500.

I'll pay whatever BMW of Alexandria tells me to pay, they are usually honest and fair with me. And hook me up with little stuff when I need them.

I'm getting my oil change kit from Tischer, but found this today:

http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-14...e-package.aspx

Slightly cheaper, although $10 shipping evens it out.

Well, the actual oil change they quoted me was $350, then $150 to reset the service light.

baffling...well you know how much you shoudl pay, which is about $245-$250 including labor and parts.

As others have suggested buy the kit, and go indy... I have an entire oil change kit for sale if you're interested, I'm letting it go at cost so you dont' have to wait. I'm in Arlington, but willing to meet up at Tysons. Let me know.

Second on the DIY. The tools are cheap.

Suggest instead of $160 for Tisher's oil change kit, you check out Bavarian Auto online. They recommend Lubro Moly instead of Castrol. I use it, and 10L (you need 8.8L) is about $89.00. They also have the stock Mann filter for $18.00

RRT in Sterling quoted me $220 the other day when I was in there. I was curious what they would charge, but plan on DIY.
