Buddster...I got a quote for the leather and the piano trimming. Out of curiosity, how much did they charge you? How is the leather? Is it like some of that really nice leather in the 7series?

How much did you get quoted? Mine was $5180 retail for both the trim and leather and $4710 dealer cost. The leather feels great. I'm not sure how it compares to other M3's, but if feels luxurious. Thick, with a great texture. Somewhat custom. You can tell it's individual and not production because there's some imperfections that appear to be the result of non-mass production (folds, stitching etc...). Overall, highly recommended. Feels 7 series, but performs like an M.

Quoted $5105 for both. I think Id rather just get the leather but its hard to make a decision without samples to see how the color really looks. Im considering the Amarone Novillo with a white exterior. I want the red look but the standard fox red looks a bit on the orange side. The trim is too pricey for that amount. I might just see if i can get the trim aftermarket or take it to a body shop. Thanks for the info buddster.

Both are the best, if that makes any sense!
I've tried both. Leatherique is better. Unfortunately, there's no Leatherique wipes.

Cheers.

Is Leatherique good for maintenance or just restoration? It seems like a restoration product to me, but they do have the cleaner only. Not sure the best way to use that stuff if you're just maintaining.

My wife’s X6 has an Oyster leather interior, which is very close to the platinum leather color and Zaino's leather cleaner (z-9) performed much better than Lexol.

There's another level up of this Individual interior, with Novillo leather lower door panels and color coded trim in the center console and the AC/CIC trim plates.

Technic - I'm not sure how you would get it though. Mark's M would know since he spent over year working closely with BMW on his. I actually tried what you were talking about with colored trim on the dash (I saw it on a 3 series individual brochure) and even sent pics and photos to them, explaining what I was looking for. The impression I got was that they didn't want to be bothered. I was just happy they accepted the individual interior so I didn't push it. Maybe there's a cleaner way of doing it.

I would think that, if anything, the leather on the bottom of the door panels could have legal implications in the USA due to side impact regulations. However I cannot see what's the problem in getting the dash and center console plastic in a matching Individual color.

Much less I cannot see why the bother in a customer request, after all this is Individual. Kind of defeating the damn purpose...

Regardless, you got a outstanding interior. Enjoy it!!!!

I'm confused as to why the Dinan Flywheel didn't work? Do you think it's a ZCP unique modification?

Great looking car!

The pulley itself is fine, it's the belts that are the problem. They were too small I believe. The mechanic tried everything to get it to work and spent a couple hours on the phone with Dinan. Between the both of them they determined the belts were the wrong size. We tried Rogue belts, Macht Schnell belts and the OEM belts and none of them worked. My guess is that Dinan hasn't worked this out yet.

BTW, I bought the pulley from BMW of Encinitas who is trying to stiff me on the return of the pulley. Their parts department is an absolute disgrace. Strongly recommend not buying anything from them.

can you give us the P/N for the keyhole delete?

How hard was it to install? Did you watch them install it at EAS?

Thanks

The part number is 51-21-7-162-433. I didn't see the install. Maybe Tom can chime in on this.

The keyhole cover is held in by 1 hex bolt behind the door gasket - this is a 5 minute install.

Honestly I wouldnt worry about the nay sayers. I had Dove grey on my E36 M3 and its FINE.... Honestly would BMW put this in the car if JEANS stained it??? Seriously.

Love the interior. You beat me to the front PDC mod, lets say I am jealous and the fact that you got them to do the cupholder part in interior color instead of black is awesome
