Dinan SW will be the answer, raise the rev limiter a little and delete speed govenor. And you still have a warranty.

Who said anything about BMW colors available from Individual. My question was if there where after market chips to remove the speed limiter. And if so, do they void the warranty- For example the V2 on the 335 is not detectable by the dealer and thus does not void the warranty as long as you remove it when it serviced (or so i think)
Good one, I LMAO when I read this, I was thinking the same thing.

What does SW stand for. I'm sure it will be 2x the cost over other chips but well worth the money to keep the warranty. Agree that going 155+ will be rare even for those of us who track thier cars. Having the engine rev a little higher 2-300rpm more would be a more noticable and useful feature.

Does anyone think Dinan could make a chip that kept the warranty and allowed revs to 9K RPM- that would be insane- i doubt it but thought I'd ask.

My service advisor then called it the Dinan software upgrade. Can't remember how much it cost but I know it wasn't too bad. Have not heard anything for the new E92 M3's yet but I will ask them when I get mine in.

SW = software..... For the little tweaks they offer M cars, well worth the $900-$1000

Usually I'm not too found of Dinan, however with this car and to avoid warranty issues; I'm definitely interested in their EDC friendly springs and SW that should be coming out soon.

I'll call the NA rep by me tomorrow and see where they are now with testing.

Did Dinan offer software for SMG that raised the redline? If so it would require tweaks not on to the engine SW but also the transmisson control SW.

They said they would initially, but have not. The SW for the SMG was simply to allow automatic upshift at redline at WOT with the Dinan 3.91 differential. Since the 3.91 differential changes the speed in gears, the SMG computer nevers upshifts at redline with the 3.91 differential because a speed goal is never achieved.

Everyone with the Dinan 3.91 diff is a bit pissed.

Dinan SW for M cars is cheap (relative to 335 software) and does what I want and is therefore worth the money
