Any news on potential release dates for Starcraft 2 or Diablo 3?

SC2 is first or second quarter 2009, D3 after SC2. Both are still in Internal Alpha testing.

Clarification: SC2 is Alpha testing. D3 is development status. Some anticipate SC2 Beta announcement at this years BlizzCon, but I know for a fact SC2 will be out in 2009.

<cough cough>, make that SC2 sometime in 2009/2010 and D3 2010/2011. having closely watched development of Blizzard games, this is very likely the schedule. considering they haven't even announced 3 remaining character classes in D3, known bestiary is still minimal and there are no concrete details on skills yet, i don't except the game anytime soon.

Diablo 2 was first set to release in the winter of 1998...it wasn't released until june 2000.

Though your observations are correct, history doesn't necessarily repeat itself. SC2 will launch in 2009, this is factual. D3 is still a long way off.

I'd be more concerned with why the original poster has what seeming is a RealDoll sitting on the hood of his car. LOL!

ha ha, no release dates are factual with blizzard. what they say today will be obsolete tomorrow. until they're printing discs and putting them in boxes ready to be shipped, i won't believe a thing they/fan sites say.

if it does come out in 2009, it will probably be 12/31/09

this is what blizzard states regarding both diablo 3 and starcraft 2; as you can see, there is nothing factual about it.

At this point, it's too early to provide an initial estimate on the release date. As with all Blizzard games, we will take as much time as needed to ensure the game is as fun, balanced, and polished as possible.

I'm not about to debate this with you, but since you're taking my comments so literally, let me take a moment to set you straight. Nowhere did I state a definitive release date, but it is FACT that SC2 will be released in 2009. Now, this of course is tentative and subject to change, but as two weeks ago still relevant. I, unlike you, am not speculating and have an actual source for this information. One who has been with Blizzard since they were called Silicon & Synapse.

Anyway, to the original poster. Point being, it will be quite some time before you have the game (SC2) in your hands. Be sure to follow the official BlizzCon announcements mid-October though.
