Mixing Tire Brands/Sizing Help
Hey everyone,
Here's the deal... I have an e92 m3 with aftermarket Forgestar F14's. I had these wheels previously on my bagged, RB Turbo, FBO e90 335i, and I went with a "stancey" setup. I've been rocking this setup on my M3 ever since I bought the car, but it looks weird and I'm looking to buy tires that properly fit the wheels/car. Here are current wheel/tire specs: Forgestar F14 SDC 19x9.5 +22 19x11 +25 225/35/19 Hankook Evo 2 255/30/19 Hankook Evo 2 The rear tires are virtually brand new and I still have plenty of tread on the front. I'm thinking about moving the 255/30 Hankooks to the front wheels, and then buying Michelin Pilot SS for the rear (295/30). My question is, what are your thoughts on mixing brands? And more importantly, is it going to look strange with 255/30 in front (on a 9.5'' wheel), and 295/30 in rear (on a 11'' wheel)? Does anyone have pictures of what that would potentially look like? I'm just trying to be cheap here - ideally I should buy a whole new matching set, but again, the rears are virtually brand new. Thoughts? And thanks for any help!

Mixing brands is not ideal and having a 40mm difference front and back is twice as much as stock. You can always sell your current tires. I think 265/30 or 275/30 up front and 295/30 rear would be best.

255/30-19 is not the correct size. The correct options for the front would be either 255/35-19 or 265/30-19. In the rear I would go with 295/30-19.
Sell the tires and pickup a new matching set in the correct sizes and you will be much better off Last edited by AP3X_FTW; 03-21-2017 at 01:05 AM.. |

thats going to induce some really shitty understeer. less-premium, skinny tires up front, very good, wide tires in the rear. don't plan on screwing around much.

I had a feeling that was going to be most people's response but wanted to be sure before shelling out the cash. Appreciate the feedback! Thanks!
