Concours BMW, Milwaukee WI - ICV, MAF, Steering wheel replaced

FYI...

So my car would have a somewhat erratic idle on cold starts. Never had an issue once it got warm nor did it ever bother me. Went on like this for a year and finally threw an SES light. Dealer replaced the ICV and the secondary air mass sensor. Engine is stock except for a dinan pulley.

I also had the yellow striped performance steering wheel and the dye on the yellow stripe rubbed off. I bought this before the blue stripe wheel came out and what wrought with regret ever since.

So guess what? Dealer replaced with the blue striped steering wheel!

Concours has been a pretty easy to deal with dealer thus far!

Evidently you are still under warranty. BMW dealers nationwide will fix anything if your car is still under the bumper to bumper policy. If the replacement part is an update, that's what you get. Just so you know, dealers are reimbursed for any warranty work approved by the Service Tech. He has to justify it. That's why you have to be a damn good witness in court. Bring your facts. Ah but beware any work done off warranty. The hole it will drill in your wallet will hurt like hell.

I bought my second Porsche from Concours. The car was brand new and it was a good experience.

I know how warranty work is reimbursement for the dealer. BUT...not every car company would be very willing to replace a 3 year old steering wheel because of a small minor defect that is purely esoteric.

There are plenty of dealerships out there that would balk at replacing the steering wheel unless I put up a total b1tch fit.

Again, kudos to Concours! I also really liked Kansas City BMW (or whatever they are called)...really easy to deal with.

Son, you are obviously still under warranty. Kudos to you keeping the calendar current on this. No way it would be replaced if not.
