Well how nice of you to pace around for the past two hours anticipating my post.

Don't you have some thread policing to do? Hop to it, times a wasting.

All afternoon = 5 min. If it takes you all afternoon to use google, then I take it all back. I didn't realize you had a learning disability.

Perhaps that destination would make you look even more obtuse?

I like how you failed to address the fundamental error I noted above about "base".

You lack context like a child misusing a term.

Here where I live, a "base model" can refer to a model that has little or no options OR the lowest price model of a series, such as the 323i of the 3 series (here in Canada, that's the 323i, not the 328i like the US).

You can say my base model has a lot of features that are "standard", but on the other hand, I've never heard people use a term like "standard M3" to denote a stripper M3 (or other car). If someone said "standard M3", I'd be thinking they were comparing it to a special edition M3 or something.

This could vary from place to place, I doubt there are many absolutes in life.

you guys are funny.... who cares what someone else thinks about your car? if you have any self-esteem you wouldn't look to an internet forum for approval.

I do like the leather, trim and little gadgets (auto-dimming mirrors) that come in the PP, but I simply refused to pay for the second hump. I passed on two other cars because of the hump, as the dealers were not willing to pay me enough to take them.

In the end, I benefitted from my relatively utilitarian tastes because seemingly no one wanted the poor single-humped mutant in a remote corner of the lot.

It only took a couple of years with a therapist to get over the lack of an "M" button. But, I don't like to talk about it. We're still working on the "E93 is not a real M3" thing. Some days (sunny ones) are better than others, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel--particularly with the top down. The occasional nightmare where I show up back in high school without ZCP is also starting to subside.

My name is Stewart Smalley, I don't have a fixed carbon fiber roof, second hump, or ZCP, but, doggone it, people like me.

Lol, great post, made me laugh.

I originally thought I'd likely order a new M3 (to get it spec'd exactly like I want), but I'd have to go without certain things I thought of getting anyway because they require the addition of the second hump (in Canada at least). And based on how single-hump M3 are so frequently unloved with prices that reflect this, I am seriously thinking it might be worth my while to pick up a (used or new but on the lot) mutant one-humper.
