Yeah, they do... I think I may have a cracked sternum after my accident. But at least they hurt less than being hit by metal and flying glass. Sorry about the accident... that truly sucks! I hope you and your friend are alright though!!!

Hope everyone is okay. The deafness is probably from the "explosion" of the inflating air bag. It's like a gun shot. Sounds like it did its job though!

sorry 3some to read about your injury. you will, no doubt ensure that the doctors keep an eye on you over the coming weeks and months and if you need grief counselling take it.

we want you to recover quickly.

now what about your friend? is he/she ok?
anyone else in the merc?

bmws and mercs are, as we all know fierce competitors so you were in a very safe car, the result is testament to its safety features.

ok so i must ask was the other driver who skipped the red lights badly hurt? do you know why he/she decided on doing the most foolish, idiotic thing one can do driving? were they intoxicated or drugged?

we all pray for your hearing to return quickly and dont be too proud to get help. the shock can take time to settle.

talk to us as often as you need, as you already see, we are here for you.

recover quick.

Isn't it funny how the car commercials always show the airbags coming out nice and slow, looking all fluffly and soft. But the truth is that they explode out in microseconds. I have seen so many people with the skin scuffed off of their inner arms from the airbags.....but the benefit far outweighs the potential side affects.

Which Dodge car (Model) was it that hit you during the E90 test drive?

I was also in an an automobile accident several years ago with airbag deployment (1995 Ford Probe). Since I sit very far from the steering wheel, the wheel didn't hit my face or chest, but it did give me a significant abrasion on my arms (my arms were out while holding the wheel - I usually keep both hands on the wheel). The passenger side airbag deployment caused the dashboard flap to open with enough force to cause the windshield to bulge outwards at the point of impact.

The worst part was the sound of the airbags. It truly sounds like a gunshot inside the car with the windows up. My ears were ringing so loudly, I couldn't hear anything that anyone (or the police) were saying for that matter. In the ER they kept asking me if my neck and back were ok. I kept telling them to look in my ears and make sure my eardrum wasn't ruptured!

Everything was ok, but it took almost 2 days for that ringing to go away.

Michael

Your absolutely right man.

That curtain bag was right next to my left ear when that thing exploded. To give you an example, has any one ever slapped you hard on one of your ears. My brother once did a long time ago, that ringing sound is like ten times worse and it smells like a damn firecracker or some shit went of inside the car.
