Please do not go down that road. I tried one in my ZO6 and was never happy. I went ahead and installed an amp JL XD300-1 and a 10" JL Subwoofer JL 10W1v2-4 I found a place that made a custom enclosure that wrapped around the wheel well in back. Way better set up at only a couple of hundred more dollars spent. Actually with the enclosure I had more useable room in the car. Install time was really about the same.
Really really a waste of money. |

Well I got one for 130 bucks on eBay so I went for it. Seems like install will be a breeze and I'll let u guys know what I think of it. I won't get my hopes up though. Especially since I used to have a 12w7 in my old e46 325. But that thing was way to big/heavy.
Side note. I wanna get some t taps to tap into the existing speakers for sound/remote. What gauge wire does BMW use for the speakers. |

And the basslink needs more power I had to mount my sub right behind the ski hatch, and took out the ski cartridge Sounds great I used the basslink T in my Audi A5 and it rocked.

i mounted one in my hatchback (81 AMC Eagle SX4) fills in the bass nicely
it is not a pounding woofer but does the job well at decent volume. 2001 pioneer head unit with no amps 6.5 front 6x9 rear and the bass link boom boom pow by the black eyed peas sounds perfect brings in the low parts nicely for in a trunk i don't think it would work to well. |

Had one in my 350Z, was always happy with it. I pulled out the stock Bose sub and fit the Basslink into the compartment there. It worked perfectly and looked stock.

just remember that it's hard for bass to penetrate from the trunk in most BMWs, so the basslink may be weak

I have a single 12" JL Audio 12W6v2 woofer in the trunk of my E60, and unless the ski passthru is left open you don't get much bass in the cabin at all. And I'm running a 750 watt mono amp on that sub.
