What are IT Jobs like in Miami?

I left Miami about 15 years ago and haven't really been back. My family just moved to Miami and it had me thinking about the possibility of moving back in the near future. I was wondering if any of you knew what the availability of senior positions (PM, Director, etc..) were in the field of Information Technology (especially DOD cleared positions).

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
SZ

IT positions in Miami

THE oppurtunities are there.

I worked at south com during the Haiti earthquake and Loved it.

my dad retired in Miami so i jumped at the chance to see him and how he was living down there since were from brooklyn, NY and visited often.

in the DOD-contracting world down in south com its alot about who you rather than what you know...

when are you planning to visit down there again?

I am in Afghanistan right now but still am connected to southcom forever!

let me know

While not as hot as Socal for IT jobs I think Miami is OK. Gotta be good and work to find what you want but it can pay off. Moved down here 3 years ago from Tampa for an IT job

I used to work at SOCOM in Tampa supporting the TACLAN program years ago. Tampa is ok but Miami really offers the true Florida lifestyle.

From the feedback that I have received thus far, through sites like Monster and Career Builder, I am beginning to feel like things are a bit slow out there in terms of job opportunities in the IT or Engineering field. The salaries are way low too.

This sucks!
