Bilstein B16 (DampTronic) Help!
Ok, I just installed Bilstein B16 (DampTronic) and have a few questions. How much will the car settle? The front end is higher than stock and the spring is at its lowest setting. Also after driving for about 5 miles I notice the car is bouncy ( not like the civic's I see rolling around but there is a bounce). Is that normal? And will that work its self out? Sorry if this has been asked before. Also a big thanks to M3 post member " SonnyJack" for coming over and helping with the installation.
Update: The strut was not properly seated all the way down. The bounce is completely gone.

Take the wheel off and post pics. It should absolutely not be higher than stock. Sounds like major installer error here..
Make sure the steps in the official instructions are followed: https://static.summitracing.com/glob...M4-Y611A00.pdf

that is likely the issue. They should go around 1" lower than stock zcp at full drop.
Make sure the little alignment pin is not sitting onto of the knuckle preventing the strut from fully sitting into the knuckle. Last edited by M4_GTS; 08-21-2020 at 10:23 AM.. |

LOL... I know it's my issue, I don't think I seated the shock far enough down after thinking about it. Live an learn. I will report back.

The bounce went away after I fixed my screw up. But yea it about an inch at its highest setting. I did some spirited driving and the fronts stayed where they are (About an inch lower than stock) the rears dropped a bit. The ride is razor-sharp. It's a Lil stiffer in all modes. It's almost like a gained another stiff mode but lost the granny mode. Don't get me wrong the granny mode now is good, it like MILF mode now!

^ Seems like a group of people waited forever for these, and now have all changed their mind or moved on. A mini flood of new units, if you will. They池e at the top of my list for coilovers, but in the near term I知 very happy with my ZCP/Dinan setup, just wish it was a hair lower up front. Someday they値l fatigue and I値l wish to retain EDC, and the B16s will likely take their place.

That's a good way to put it, I am very happy with it as I retain my EDC and can slam the car if needed. The car has 40k on the clock but is 9/10 years old.
