2013 Mineral White/Fox Red e92 M3

The M3 arrived a few days ago and I have been trying to put miles on it to complete the break-in. Went for a canyon "cruise" yesterday. I like the precision of the M3. If I could explain it in terms of an instrument...it would be a scalpal used by a highly technical surgeon...vs the outgoing 335 which would be a sledgehammer wielded by a slightly drunken ogre. The brutal torque of the 335 and the absolute grip with the coils, LSD and PSS will be missed...but soon the M3 will be fitted with an ESS VT2 600 kit, custom progressive methanol system, Akra slip-on with an MRF catless mid-pipe...which should remove any 335 withdrawals. Installation of my M3 mods is just pending the break-in for which I'm going to wait until about 500 miles. I will do a build thread including dynos at all stages very soon

Here's some quick pics I took this weekend.

Thanks all. What a terrific car...there's so much more to it than performance numbers!

I beat the snot out of a pre-owned M3 on a very long test drive, so I knew what the M3 ZCP DCT it was capable of...but after driving it to work for a week, I'm actually very surprised at how comfortable the car is...and while I rarely drive in "D" mode, the DCT shifts perfectly smooth when I need to take phone calls.

My only (sort-of) complaint is teh lack of torque in the mid-range. Coming out of lower speed corners at between 25 and 40 mph, you have no choice but to be in 2nd gear...and I find the acceleration rather anaemic until 6,500 RPM. So I guess I'm just going to need to learn to corner faster

Lack of torque in low RPM is an easy fix....VF Engineering 620 kit. Makes the car much more enjoyable for daily driving

Thanks. Yeah dyno'ing tomorrow at EAS to get a baseline (with only 200 miles on the ODO lol) and then the supercharger will being going in soon. Will get another dyno of the car after the supercharger is installed...and will then get the exhaust and meth installed and get yet another dyno. It will make me feel better about spending all this $$$ on an already terrific car
