HELP!!!! cat ran away

So last night my retarded roommate decided not to shut the front door of our house my cat ran out. what make it worse is it began to snow this morning. I have been looking for a whole can't find him. last time I saw him was 4am in the morning, he was sleeping. and when I got at 7:30 he is gone. I immediately went outside and look under every single car nearby and every place that he could possibly hide, no luck. no footprints on the snow at all. placed a can food at the front for the whole day, didn't come back. as it is getting dark and colder, what should i do? what is chance that he would survive? he is a year and a half old domestic short hair, temperature is around 20-28F

really appreciate for your help.

It's 28F and your roommate decided to leave the door open?

Has this roommate tried to help locate the cat?

Do you live in a rural or urban area?

I was visiting my folks and let our cat out..we went door to door and found our neighbors had it..did u check with the neighbors?

Also one time my neighbor's rabbit got out..he was hopping all over the place..so i captured him and kept the little rascal in my apartment until he knocked on my door.

happened to me too
took me 3 weeks to catch that rogue bastard
you need to act quick esp w/ the cold

go get a trap:

either buy it

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Havahart-32-...item4cfc233337

or go rent it at a feed store or pet store

lay the trap w/ the stinkiest fish you can get (mackerel worked for me)
caught a possom the first night, a 2nd possom the 2nd night, and my cat the 3rd morning

good luck buddy. hope you get your cat back.

Sorry to hear about your cat!

My mom lost her cat a week and half ago by leaving her front door open while she brought her luggage in from the car. Haven't seen him since and it's been pretty cold/rainy up here in Toronto.

Don't mean to jack your thread but just want to say best of luck finding your cat! Oh and I want to add your roomate is fucking retarded.

OP, I hope this isn't your cat.
All joking aside, they are pretty resilient fuckers. It'll come back.
