This is the core question. The car will be fine in any color. Are you going to be able to pull it off? It's how you're going to feel about driving it everyday that matters. If you're already questioning it - don't do whatever you'd consider a crazy color.
Otherwise, get your bad ass fire orange M and be done with it. |

When I posted this I had never seen any of these colors in person. I just wanted others opinions. Others opinions are what the forum is all about. They don't make me decide one way or the other. When I saw the fire orange in person it spoke to me. It said. "I am badass"

Phenomenal. Haters gonna hate, but I saw one of these at Road America a couple weeks ago and they look fantastic!

At the end of the day, if the color of your car makes you happy, then why care what anyone else thinks. personally i love the unique colors on the m3. especially the orange.

In Western Washington, the county mounties are very adept w/ "instant on" radar. If you value your driver's license this is not the color to buy. The V-1 helps a little......

Color of the car has nothing to do with getting tickets. That's a myth.

Seeing the car better does not result in getting a ticket. If your speeding you get one no matter what color.

I feel an M3 deserves a nice understated colour. Don't get me wrong, Dakar Yellow, Java Green, Fire Orange, etc all look good, but I feel that after a while I would tire of a colour like that on my M3.
I personally think that M3's look awesome in classy yet different colours like Brilliant White, Moonstone, Ruby Black etc. |

Needs black wheels of course, painted reflectors, and some good carbon bits. Every now and then it's ok to own an unusual color combination. Who cares what others think? They're not paying my car bills...

Go drive around Berlin a while and count the number of brightly colored non-supercars. One market's perception of beauty may be another market's perception of buffoonery.

The beauty of the M3 is the fact that it blends in with every car out there, but the moment you drop the car into 2nd or 3rd gear and put your foot down - it stands out. It's the best of both worlds really. I think the M3 can pull off those flashy colours, but some people will look at it and not know what it is and say something stupid and incorrect about your car. As another forum member said - Flashy is for Italian cars, subtle is for German.
