Trade-in/Resale values on 2012 Models?

I tried finding this information on the various appraisal websites but could not find any information for used 2012 models. Only new pricing seems to be available at this time. Does anyone have an idea of how much I can expect to get for trade or resale on a 2012 E92 M3? The car has less than 5K miles and is pretty much immaculate. Options include ZPP, Black Novillo Leather, DCT, EPS, Sat Radio, BMW Apps, and Heated Seats. Wheels are 18" 219M. I know that pricing varies across markets, but generally, in terms of percentage of original MSRP, how much can I expect to get on trade/resale? Hopefully what I am asking makes sense. Your help is greatly appreciated!

Already letting it go I think you're going to take a big hit (even with the reduced cost of ED).

Did you steal the M3 from the guy you went on that date with

This is what has gone through the auction for 2011 e92 M3's (not sure where the May sales are) Not that a dealer has to give you this price, but it shows you what they are paying for them at auction.

I am aware of these numbers on the 2011s. I am wondering how much more 2012s would go for at auction. But given these numbers, it seems I *might* be able to pull this off. My CA told me that trade values are given based on how much these cars are selling for at auction. Depending on how much more a 2012 is worth, I would prefer to do trade as I wouldn't have to pay sales tax again. It also seems that it would be less of a hassle on my end.

What are you thinking of trading in the M3 for?

Then you are probably also aware that only one 2012 e92 M has made it to auction so there is no real data, the auction doesn't even include it in there numbers.
04/11/12 NJ Factory $51,500 1,531 Avg JETBLACK 8G 6 No

Either way if you paid ED invoice + XXX you should be able to walk away from the car without anything out of pocket. Or sell it privately and ask the dealer to do an In and Out and that would be the best of both worlds.

Done this before. Technically the dealer accepts your car for trade in (reducing the net sales price and therefore sales taxes in many states) then immediately sells the car to a buyer who has already agreed to the purchase. If you can arrange it the dealer will usually gives you a somewhat higher trade in value as they take no risk on having to sell the car off their lot...

Nice. How do they find the buyer for your current car? Is it basically "on consignment" to the dealer, until they find a seller?

No, in my case I knew somebody who wanted to by my old SUV so I basically brought the buyer with me. That's why the dealer likes it, no cost to them, some simple paperwork and they get a sale...

Question

Any update? Did you end up selling, and what did you replace it with? M5, perhaps?
