M3 vs. SC'ed(?) IS-F

Just left my house the other day and a IS-F was riding my ass, so I gave it a little stick. The IS-F screams past me....

We stop at the light and he says nice car...I say thanks, your's too, and mention that my car isn't warmed up yet, so no racing...lol (it was still bone cold and I had my kid in the car too!).

He takes off and then I hear the whine...it had a SC, no doubt. He hammered it and that thing was pretty damn fast. He woulda walked me, no prob.

I searched a bit but only found a few custom SC installs that had been done on IS-F, but no kits, per se. Has anybody else heard of/seen a SC kit for in IS-F? Strange....

There isn't anything available as far as supercharger kits for the F. One thing that frustrates many owners is the very limited aftermarket available for the car.

Tons of discussion about a supercharger project for an individuals car, but sadly there has been nothing shown to demonstrate it actually works. The SC project is in FL however.

The Artisan's are one offs. Afaik, there are zero turbo kits readily available. There has been some experimentation, but nothing that has caused owners to start putting them on their own cars, at their own dime.

The problem isn't fitting an SC or TT, it is the fact that the ECU is unbreakable. It has never been done. That limits what can be done with these cars.

Currently the fastest F, that I'm aware of, is based in FL and spraying.

Turbo IS-F owner said, "got 11.5" tires in the rear." Wish I could stuff 11.5 wheels out back. Nice flaring out job on those quarters. But you have to be an idiot to screw gauges onto the dash of an IS-F.

Haven't seen him around town.

There have been a few TT cars from Artisan and a couple other attempts, iirc. All of the cars we have ever seen in the Lexus community have been tuner cars that are then sold off. I don't know of one owner that has actually purchased a TT kit for their own car. Like I said, it's the lack of tuneability that limits what can be done to the F.

Why else wouldn't you see these supposed +600hp cars throwing down some serious numbers at tracks?

LOL...maybe that was it. Shit, it had that SC whine....big time. Maybe his power steering was out of fluid. lol.

Well, I know abouts where he lives as he turned off shortly thereafter. If I see him around I will ask him wazzup. Seemed like a nice enough guy...

Numerous attempts to SC and turbo the F, but all of them failed because the ECU is unbreakable. From what I remember, the F in the video was just running a really low boost because it cannot be tuned. The F that the OP run probably has a leaking water pump which is a TSB item. LOL.
The fastest F 's have I/H/E and spraying. Some might have ported throttle bodies but that does not do much.

BMW is already doing it. The new F10 has yet to be cracked. All the tuning, from what I understand, has been done w/piggy back units. It'll be interesting to see if the F80 follows suit.
