Yup, a tune is needed to make all the parts work in sync. Wonder what type of blower its using if its not cooled, centrifugal or roots?

Definitely centrifugal. He mentioned sticking a filter right on the blower.

Well there is no doubt you can make and sell such a system but even if it is a 5psi system you will still register higher temperatures than you would if you stay NA or go with IC. After years of higher thermal cycling your engine wear accelerates and reliability drops like a rock. I am sure there are kits out there that work without IC for awhile but you will nevel know when the big hit to your wallet will come. (And this is an expensive engine.)

By the way, in the HP graph you posted why is the torque jumping up in a stair-step fashion just under 6K rpm? Why isn't the ramp smoother?

Keep up the good work on the stage-2.

LOL...
if you have a 3000lb car, then a stock m3 v8 is more than enough. who need more power in such a light car?

check the e30 m3 with v8, lol

The thing you need to worry about when it comes to engine wear/damage is knock not increased combustion air temps. This motor has a very sophisticated knock detection system. With proper tuning and low boost this motor has no issues running FI without an air cooling system. Increased combustion temps from 5 PSI will not damage the motor. The increase in tq you see was done to take advantage of the way this motor performs at higher RPM's. Instead of droping off or flattening out power up top we used the characteristics of the motor to make additional top end power and tq.

To answer a few other questions stage 1 will look just like stage 2. You always need software when you add FI to a motor and the blower is a centrifugal Vortech V3 blower that has its own self contained oil system so it does not share oil with the motor

Roman,

Would we be able to "test drive" the stage 1 or stage 2 kits before making a purchase? I would love to get behind the wheel for 3-5 minutes just to experience the power increase before purchase. especially since I'm not sure how much power would be just right for me, stage 1 or stage 2. thanks.

If you can visit here in AZ we can arrange rides for customers. We have already taken several customers out in our stage 1 R&D car and have some scheduled for rides in our 600 HP stage 2 in the coming weeks.

What temperature increases do you see in your stage 1 car over NA? (The thing has got to be running hotter than w/o the S/C.)

What does stage 1 consist of? Vortech-3 plus what?

$6k worth of what?

I think what Mikey is looking for is a big HP number.

Listen, I can buy your M3 and get you into an nice Viper, Corvette or Mustang with a big number to brag on. Or.... You can avoid going where many of us have been and returned from and do this.

Let's take your car to the track and show you what it is really great at. I was just at Road Atlanta for the BMW CCA Oktoberfest and was shocked how fast bone-stock E93 M3's were on track. And after driving your far from stock M3 all I can say is you have no idea what you have under you my friend, no idea at all.

So, how about you take half of that $6k and do some club driving schools in the next year and I'll be willing to bet your whole outlook will be changed forever.

What do you say?
And where are my photos?

I built mine, performance wise, with less than 6k, see signature below, but I did all installs myself. $6K should be able to cover what you need mostly.

I spent about 9k, but I have every bolt-on. 6k will get you very far, if not almost everything if you price things right.

$6k and to get the biggest hp for the money would mean a custom setup of direct port nitrous with large amounts of road tuning to ensure somewhat of reliability is achieved

I have seen it done on the S54 but not sure if the same philosophy can be carried over to our aluminium block
