I think this is the worst commercial I've ever seen in my recent memory.

I mean look at how obnoxious this guy is...on speaker phone in the middle of a restaurant arguing about some stupid fact thats hardly worth a shit all while the poor lady is waiting to take his order and she looks annoyed!!!

Here is where I see the value in "talk and surf": mobile hotspot! Try using your VZW phone as a mobile hotspot while on a conference call. You can't.

Here is a real life example. A few weeks ago a colleague and I were talking on our VZW Blackberry's. He had an email he needed to forward to me for the attachment. He puts me on speakerphone and tries to forward the email with attachment. He then asks "did you get the email yet?" Of course not, because it isn't going to "send" until he hangs up. The call then dropped (no shit, I thought this NEVER happened on VZW if their ads are to be believed), and then I got the email.

Still, a rather crappy commercial, only due to the setting.

Oh, and O'Shea's in Las Vegas:
AT&T - Full bars and 3G
VZW - NO bars (1xRTT at that)

They do a bad job emphasizing the scope of the issue.

Talk and data can't happen at the same time (LTE fixes that) period. So it's not just about surfing the web and talking on the phone at the same time, although I guess that's the specific instance AT&T thought most customers would identify with. I think the commercials are dumb, but the idea of data and voice at the same time is a pretty relevant issue for a lot of people.

it seems like AT&T has been pulling out all the stops recently because of VZW...
all else equal the "talk and surf" seems to be the only differentiation between the two companies....

as far as the Progressive commercials....SMFH...allowing people to name their price???? WTF????
I wonder how many of their customers are under-insured??? My guess is, 80% of people who "pick their price" are undersinsured because the general public has no idea what coverage they need

Their commercials actually convinced me to switch from my verizon iphone to at&t iphone so I can use voice and data at the same time.
